Hello. I have a stock 2001 sequoia limited 4x4 and am in need of some tires. I have OEM rims from an 04 sequoia and the tires size is 265/70R17 and I was using Hankook Dynapro AT. I'd like some BFG's but the price is painful. The tires will be 50% off road on gravel and dirt roads, hills and some snow and ice, and the other 50% highway and local roads.

I had planned to get the stock rims sandblasted and powder coated but the local sandblasting company says they can't do chrome rims. I thought these were an alloy of some kind so now I have to either deal with ugly rims or drop some coin and tires and rims. There are so many tire options out there that my head is spinning with regard to what to choose so I figured I'd ask here. I don't want a mud tires but I do need a somewhat aggressive tread just to get up the hill to my house. Also, do I need a 6 ply or 10 ply? That seems to affect price and choice.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I like Coopers but it seems every time I buy tires the pattern is different. I have a worn out set of Cooper ATP's on my 2000 Tundra, the size escapes me at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. I have Cooper AT3's on my 08 tundra and they work really well on almost all surfaces but they are LOUD on anything other than off-road. I would like to get some BFG's and be done with it but the sticker shock is real. lol.

I ended up with the old standby, BFG KO2’s. Very happy with them. Also had the OEM rims sandblasted and powder coated black.
