I don't have the code on hand, I will scan it at work tomorrow and post, but I believe it said EVAP malfunction. On a side note, I can smell fuel after filling up... inside the cab.

    Any help is appreciated!

Pop hood and check for loose fuel hoses on drivers side behind battery. Those hoses have no clamps and can slip off over time. Had a fuel vent hose slip there and caused vapors to waft into the cab.

Also, try putting a new gas cap on. A few years back, a code popped on my 02’ saying EVAP canister blah blah blah. Called mechanic and he says try a new gas cap ($12). Fixed!

Okay so I read it again this morning and I had P0440 and P0446 codes. One was a general malfunction of the EVAP system and the other is a malfunction of the vent control circuit.

I'll order a gas cap today to eliminate the possibility of that .

If it was a fuel line under the hood, wouldn't I smell it all the time? I only smell fuel for a couple minutes after filling up and I roll the windows down and it goes away. Just a thought

Crawl under and look around the gas fill hose leading to the tank. Make sure there are no leaks. BTW, my truck smells after fill up. Goes away fast until the next fill.

The under hood leak I had was a randon anytime smell until the hood popped up and you could really smell it there. Vapor hose leak at slipped connection.

    Update...

I replaced the canister purge valve/solenoid and it cured the code.
