If no one answers the question, call a Toyota dealer close by and repeat what you said here and ask what a trouble shoot cost. Your not obligated to have them fix it after they checked it, but at least they'll be honest with you. Did you add anything electrical or do some electrical work at all on it before the dome light issue, or even after it? Plug something in and see sparks or smell something electrical burning? I think your tapping around on relays, etc, really screwed things up for you. Should have used a bigger hammer...kidding. Unless your not saying all of it, it sounds like the truck was pulled out of a lake and everything's waterlogged.

I don't think this is one any of us here would've guessed. That's pretty nuts - did it take out the HVAC controls also?

300 hectares on single tank of kerosene

2200 bucks is a lot but... 52,000 for a new truck is really really a lot. With only 130,000 miles, you should be able to enjoy that truck for many years to come. Glad they got you fixed up.

I have a 2001 model. I love it to death. I will never sell it.

Can you hear the blower working when you put on the heat? You should hear it on the max setting for the fan. Do any of the vent settings work that blow air?

PS - you may want to list your old AC controls on eBay. Obviously weren't the problem and they fetch a nice sum of money.

You're already out over $2k thanks to shitty mechanic, might as well recoup some of that...

If you're positive it was their fault and they're not going to do anything to resolve it, then yeah, you may want to consider a dispute.
