Need a few more details here. You removed factory amp that was undernieth the radio/behind the climate controls? You're trying to put in aftermarket radio correct? Are you using an aftermarket radio harness? Did you mount the radios you tried into the truck as to get proper ground. I've seen on these trucks where the amps/radios can be grounded through their mounting brackets.

I've read in several places that the climate controls must be plugged in for the radio power to work. This has bit two others in the ass recently.

I figured it out you can’t change the climate control panel and I did that was my problem can switch them from a 2003 to a 2000

Climate control is another thing that's gotten a lot of chatter here. The last consensus I heard was "you can't just swap climate controls from one truck to another" and "they're very specific to the truck's options and therefore difficult to find the right one" and "you're better off going to the dealership and spending the ungodly amount of money if the controls need to be replaced.

Well, you learn something every day...who knew? Not me! I recently spent an entire afternoon trying to figure out why my aftermarket radio wasn't working anymore after having removed it to add a direct chassis ground (I get RF noise when on hands free BT). Simple operation, yet afterward it wouldn't work. Checked the power, fuses, wiring, no luck. Undid what I did, and tried it again. Got on the phone with Crutchfield support, and they ultimately said I need to get a new one! Dejected, I put it all back together so I could drive the truck while I was shopping for a new one...and suddenly it worked as if by magic! (I hate those fixes where you solve the problem but don't know why. Not as bad as the feeling when you f-up your stuff and don't know why, but close). Well now I know! I had disconnected the climate control panel and set it aside while I was working.

Yeah it had me stumped for a good couple weeks my original climate control panel was beat up and all the tabs were broken so I swapped the internals into good one and it’s fixed
