Good afternoon everyone. As stated above I'm a two time Tundra owner and I wanted to share an experience with Scheel Mann seats I installed this weekend. First off, the Vario F's I bought are pretty awesome with tons of adjustment possible. My stock seats were not bad at all really, but with 235k miles on them I figured they may be the cause of mine and my wife's back pain on long trips.
First off, Scheel Mann seats are offered with a mounting bracket made by Planted. These will leave you sitting very low like in a car. I searched for seat risers that could bolt to these but didn't want to wait as I had the seats out and have other work scheduled for the truck. I lengthened the front legs by 3 1/2" and the rear by 2 1/2" by welding in some 1/8" steel. If you do this mod , weld the front legs first with the feet. Next, weld the extensions to the rear of the bracket, but leave the "feet" off so you can mock up their correct location. Lightly bolt in the bracket and then position the rear " feet" accordingly. I also added an angular bracket that went from the bottom of the mounting plate to the inside of the outer front leg. I'm 6' with a 32 inch inseam and I have about 3" from the top of my head to the headliner. Though I do go offroad, I'm not a hat wearer so I should be good. If I were going to do it again I'd probably lift it just a bit less.
The next concern that the Scheel-Mann rep disclosed is that your airbag light will activate as even the OEM seats in my 07 have seat position and seat occupancy sensors. It looks as though a company used to make a bypass , but they are either not made anymore or are just really hard to find. If you're lucky the steering wheel will block your view of this light haha!
So all things said, this is not just a quick bolt in without the ability to get the seat a few inches higher. If you're broad shouldered or taller than 6' Id recommend the XXL's as the seatback height is similar to OEM. Hope this helps anyone considering this mod!

Hey, welcome! Glad you found a fix for your low seats. Desert does it also makes what you call “seat jackers”. Raised the front to make it more ergonomic!

Thanks, I will look into those. Now, I just need to find the airbag bypass.
