If you plan on doing the East Coast bushing upgrade; I’m will to send my removal tool out to you to use. I received this tool as a freebie so special thanks to @Editmars
All I ask is that it is taken care of and used the way it was designed to be used. When you return the tool, you must include something local to you; a cool sticker, beer, or beer(unless you’re from Milwaukee, I don’t want any milky beast!) or anything you feel like sharing.
Only request the tool when you’re actually going to use it, not for an upcoming project in the months to come (incase someone else needs it sooner). Have your parts ready to go for when the tool arrives.
PM me with your address and contact info. Happy clamming!

At some point will you measure the width of the part that slips into the diff and behind the needle bearing?

Don’t you need the bushing install driver too?

That would probably help but don’t think it’s absolutely necessary. I’ve heard of people using a nicely shaped piece of pvc. I have a cheap race and seal install kit I’m happy to send along with the package that’ll most likely do the job

Yeah you’d need the race/seal tool for the bushing itself

Sounds good bud! Let me know

I haven’t seen much about ppl from 2/2.5 gen doing it, but you can head over to the 1st gen thread and ask some questions. I’m sure the procedure is similar

A few... Definitely more than 2
There have been a few recently in the 2nd gen thread. I just did mine as well. Actually, I just loaned out my install tools as well so when I get those back I will put it up in here as a second set if you don't mind, I have the bushing and seal kit along with the puller.

The process is not really that hard, and I would put my shade tree mechanic skill in the mid-low tier. The most difficult was getting the CV to pop out of the knuckle with only two hands. I used a video from a taco as a guide and it was very close, tundra just has bigger parts.

That’s awesome you were able to tackle it! Your skill level sounds about on par with mine. Good to know I’ll be able to do it when the time comes

Would be great to get another tool set going on here. I’m sure there will be quite a few of these bushings needing replacement.

If you don’t mind, when you get your install tool back, if you could send me over some measurements that’d be awesome. I have a springtime goal of getting my lathe back together and dialed in. Turning another install tool would be a great project to get back in the swing of things
