1st Post and question…

I just replaced the OEM lead/acid battery with a X2 (North Star/Odyssey) AGM battery and while admiring my new $400 battery this morning I noticed this hatch cover. Is this the diagnostic plug? I’m guessing not due to its small size and would like to know what it is.

Lots of good info here but you should probably quit it now.
This place gets expensive looking at all the cool mods. that give you way to many ideas on how to spend your money

 

Also some guys are having charging issues with the AGM batteries.

I have an X2 batt. Some people don't run the diode and just use a charger/tender once a month. The diode boosts the output of your alternator by tricking the system the output is lower.

 

Yes. He was and I found it very interesting that when the tech tested my charging system with the oem 5amp fuse the voltage regulator failed the test after turning my brights on as it dove below 13.4.

We tested again after installing the GM diode and got a passing grade of 13.8 with the high beams, A/C and 4 way flashers running but I would jump on an adjustable diode to get my charging above 14 if I could find one that's actually in stock.
