Hello, can someone point me in the right direction regarding this issue? I have a 2005 Tundra, access cab, the drivers door is stuck shut. Both inside and outside door handles will not open the door. I press the unlock/lock button on the key fob and the doors unlock and lock but still can't open the door. I've seen the numerous videos on how to get the door open but my question is. Am I needing to replace the actuator, the door lock mechanism or both?

Actuator triggers the door to lock and unlock, if you see the lock knob in the door change position, chances are the actuator is firing.
Latch mechanism opens/closes the latch onto the post, but just because the actuator is firing doesn't mean the lock is actually disengaging at the latch.

Sometimes if you push inward on a door, then unlock, then use the handle (while pushing in the whole time) you can get a stuck latch to free. This works more often than having someone pull in the door at the window (not the handle, it'll break) while you do the same.

Do you know if someone did something stupid like installed a non-OEM latch? Or did this just spontaneously fail? We've seen quite a few people who ordered latches off scAmazon who ended up in this position where the door is permanently shut.

In theory, if the door is unlocked and you can hook the latch, you may be able to pop the latch. The peculiar part, and a pretty unique symptom for your case is ... it's not working with either handle. But it could just be that the plastic security piece let go at the latch, and the pull bar is free-floating inside the door. If what I'm saying doesn't make sense, I can draw up a picture real quick.
