hello fellow tundra owners. new to the threads and thought id post today to see peoples experiences with towing. I have a 2003 tundra limited acess cab 4x4 4.7 v8. Driving to utah this weekend with a full bed with two dirtbikes and a bunch of camping equipment my car was bouncing all over the interstate. With stock suspension on a 17 year old truck i cant expect much more. But i am trying to pull a trailer 5000+ not loaded around colorado this winter and seeing what upgrades yall would reccomend. would not be towing on interstate and probably moving once or twice in an 8month period would yall think its duable. Or not reccomend this at all. experiences with max weight on toyota tundra towing etc. anything would help. thanks

Without Tow package pushing it, with Tow package breathing room.

According to the Brochure pdf I attached above, the "Towing Package (V8 models only—includes Class IV towing hitch, 7-pin connector, heavy-duty alternator and supplemental transmission oil cooler), you can tow up to 7,200 lbs."

If you go to Toyota.com and register/create an account, you'll input your VIN # and then be able to see your actual Vehicle Specifications which will or will not list list Tow package. You also can see past Service History of what's been done if done at a Toyota dealer.

Is it ball-on-bumper or do you have a reciever hitch?

Should be good. If your leaf springs are weak its probably a good idea for fresh springs and shocks. And a general tune up. Filters, fluids, plugs, etc.

Keep it out of OD when towing, consider a regear, and make sure your tires are capable and acceptable.

    alignment? Brakes? Lights?

507 garage makes an adapter to run a blower from a cobra.
