Can confirm. I've seen more negative posts about him than positive.

Considering he appears to be actively deleting negative posts, and we're both still seeing them pop up, makes me think something is really not right...

I think around 12 32nds. They definitely look like they are more than halfway worn though. I got lunch with a friend today and he commented that I'll need new tires soon.

This HF 2 ton is currently a great deal with an ITC membership. I've been watching the price for a while, so when I saw the current deal I jumped on it.

Its going to get a skid plate mounted to the factory wheel locations, and will get a mount behind the cab with the spare tire(s)

@Sirfive seen it fold under my truck, lots of situational anomalies but I wouldn’t recommend for a trail jack

fake news :rofl:Ive used and abused a 1.5 tonner for nearly a decade, it just doesn't have enough lifting capacity for the big boned tundra.
brother ewww. Going for as light weight as possible, but still gets the job done.

My lady tires & apparently lady shocks are a nice match. The bitchelins from 2018, have got some inside wear, but are quiet & capable enough (for lady trails), and the billies handle fine empty or loaded (for lady loads).

Anyone ever run the Fox shocks for our trucks? Currently have KYBs on stock suspension, but thinking next year I'd like to replace or add a leaf to the rear and raise the front and rear maybe 1.5" or so. I like to throw motorcycles in the bed and on the hitch so no desire to level the truck. I'm pretty happy with the 265/75/R16s I'm running, so not looking for more tire clearance.

I'd give my firstborn for a set of brand new trd pro labeled shocks. But probably have to run a 3" lift to fit em. And reinforce the shock towers.

Alright, I finally have some free time to get some pics out from my last Merus trip with me and the boy.

This is the top of "drop zone". Not to be confused with "drop in". This is a black and one way, down only. No thanks.
    20241026_105920.jpg

    20241026_105943.jpg

I went around to Hetz bluff again, but took "VR4 north" this time, a blue trail. I got hung up a few times and had to back up and take a new line. This is a pretty good trail around the top of the canyon.
    20241026_110931.jpg

    20241026_110936.jpg

Here's that drop off from the other side. It doesn't look that bad, but damn it took all my brakes not to run straight into the canyon.

    20241026_112027.jpg

    Waiting on jeeps. Sigh.
    20241026_112714.jpg

    The boy on Hetz bluff.
    20241026_113037.jpg

Saw some deers coming back around the top of the canyon back to the drop in.
    20241026_115539.jpg

    20241026_115542.jpg

We went all the way down "Merus 101" to the back of the park. So lonely...
    20241026_124108.jpg

After a stop at "the playground" for a little lunch, we went to "middle earth", which is right behind where we were camped at Merustober. It's a gnarly blue.
    20241026_135935.jpg

    20241026_140333.jpg

    20241026_140540.jpg

    20241026_140545.jpg

We then we to the top of "salt creek fork" all the way to the top of the park. I found "the meadows" campground which was super cool, but only for maybe 5-6 trucks max.
    20241026_140953.jpg

As seen in a previous post, a bit of tire carnage.
    20241026_145556.jpg

    20241026_145610.jpg

Switching to my drive, so some of these are gonna be non-sequential.

    2 dudes up to mischief.
    KIMG20241026_105503262.jpg

Ye Olde Merustober campground. Empty and lonely.
    KIMG20241026_122135714.jpg

Another spot on "middle earth". Nope. Had to take the bypass on this one. It turns into about an 18" vertical climb right at the top. Probably could've made it with lockers.
    KIMG20241026_134515186.jpg

Head back out on "the north road", boy was a bit tired.
    KIMG20241026_143543306.jpg

We were in for about 4 hours or so. Again, the pics just don't do it justice. There was some shit I was surprised I made it through. Once again I was very impressed with how well this truck can tackle trails.

    A few take aways:
I need new UCAs and a new alignment. I rub so bad on the left side.
I need armor. I'm scared to go over rocks and bash my rockers.
    I need lockers. Both ends.

I shall return again. Probably in December. More to come soon...

Lightings about to get a much needed upgrade, finally finding some time to sort out my relay bank/panel. Trying to wrap my head around a “negatively switched” 5pin rocker switch…

Nice wiring! I'm casually designing something similar to handle lighting and a dc/dc charging circuit. No abs pump in my way though!

ooo under the passenger seat? I hadn't considered putting it there. Probably a bad sport for me since that's where I keep my stash of dog hair.

You running the big sequoia alternator too?

Cheers man. I haven’t thought about a dc/dc charging circuit but options seem pretty endless when you get into wiring. I could have designed it in a way where the panel cover was obstructed by the ABS pump but that’s just the fun of it all.

My 2008 Lexus LS had these low power lights overhead that came on when the parking lights were on. At night, they give you just enough light to see your cup holders, center console, etc. Since it's getting a lot darker a lot earlier, I am suddenly realizing that I can't see those things in the cab. Has anyone here run a set of low power (ambient?) lights like that?

I'd rather have my night vision, but one of those cheap $1 solar landscaping lights left in a cup holder wouldnt be a terrible idea. The heads sometimes have a switch.

my phone sucks at night pics, but i could live with this.

We basically took the 101 all the way down, back to camp, all the way through middle earth, all the way up salt fork, back to 101, out.

When you get some time let's get together to talk shop. This month, next month, whenevs.
