Yeah. I have a few off roading buddies that have goosenecks set up like this, so they can haul their truggies to off-roading events with their diesel trucks and camp all weekend.

Querstion on my steering wheel buttons. I have these buttons on my 05 DC that I added and have successfully integrated into my Kenwood double din with use of an iDatalink steering wheel interface. When programming the interface, I was not able to find a vehicle using either Toyota or Lexus that allowed programming of the two circled buttons. I would like to program those two buttons to be my next/previous track buttons. Basically I have modified the buttons on the right to work as the buttons on the left side with exception of these two circled buttons since I was not able to find those among any of the available Toyota/Lexus vehicles when programming the interface. Are they only available on Japanese Toyota/Lexus models or sumpin? No se.

Are those supposed to be buttons to toggle the DTRLs?
My limited only has the buttons on the left.
I wish my sr5 had buttons. Maybe someday I'll do this mod. Did you make a write up on how to add the steering wheel controls?

No idea. I've seen tons of steering wheel buttons for all kinds of Toyota and Lexus vehicles that show those buttons but not sure what they are for. I just wanted to repurpose them as track buttons. No biggie. I still have the track buttons on the left side of the steering wheel which work as intended.

What do you mean by "track"?
Do you have a write up on how to install the left side wheel buttons?

Shifty did a write up on installing steering wheel controls. Along the left side buttons from top to bottom are Volume up, volume down, next track, previous track, and mode button. On my Ferd all the media controls are on the right hand side of the steering wheel so I wanted to set mine up the same but I have not been able to reprogram those two circled buttons in the image above.

Ok, I didn't realize you wanted to just move the track up/down over to the right.
I thought you meant track as in racing or something lol

Heck yea, 2 down, 1 to go.

been a while since i wasted a whole day doing nothing. Rained in the morning so i didnt take polo on his walk, played some fallout, watched some freevee, made microwave hotdogs. Ultimate low-effort day.

Holy shit I think I finally figured out my infernal p0420/430!

I was reading about less common reasons for those codes when I found someone mention these trucks either came with an ECU and cats for federal emissions or California emissions. The dude went on to say pop the hood and read the stickers.

Son of bitch ... My 03 sticker says federal emissions AND California emissions.
Now I'm no expert, but I'd bet $50 that the cheap cats I bought from the muffler shop here in Texas are not California spec.
Now I've been thinking the cats were still the issue, given they were new and the codes persisted, then replaced under warranty and the codes persisted. So even if I bought the MagnaFlow cats I been considering, they would likely also not meet the standards of the stupid cali ECU.

So now my hamsters are running the wheel in my head and I think I should swap ECU's, not cats. My current ECU's CAL ID is not supported by VF Tune, even though they do support some 03 2uz's. I suspect the the reason it's not supported is because califuckingfornia.

    So my thoughts are:
    Procure a normal 2003 2uz ECU
    Tune it
    Profit

Also, how is it possible no one here ever mentioned California spec ECU and cats???

Yeah I'm thinking junk yard. Flagship1 wants my VIN and the ECU part number. I told em I didn't want another CA spec ECU and that I wasn't going to pull the ECU just for them to tell me they can't give me a normal ECU because my VIN and part number are for a CA spec ECU

I'm not sure. I would assume I need another 2003 2uz 2wd ECU non CA spec

So the premise is that the tolerance for the O2 range in the CA ecu is tighter?

I guess so. I know that CA spec cats are different, so the ECU must also be different. As to what those differences are, I can't say for sure.
