You’re covering the ground and keeping the moisture from rising up. It collects on the Visqueen and just falls back and reabsorbs. The edges were pinned down to make a “seal” of sorts.

All the visqueen and R3 foam board edges were seam taped.

Jersey diners have their own version, "disco fries". I prefer legit poutine tho. The curds are where it's at.

I like the rear bumper... esp because roughly 90% of used Tundras I've looked at have the stock ones BASHED into the rear panel.
It's got less miles on it than mine did when I bought it. It's not the worst thing I've seen. If you have a straight (rust free) frame at least you have a solid foundation.
Those roof racks are interesting, looks like lighting in them. Are those home fabbed or something?

Seen bats held in place with crisscrossed twine. That board adds R and might keep the varmints out too.

When I see pics like this It always seems so odd to me. Being an AZ native almost all homes here are just built on a slab, no crawl space, much less a basement.

Up here in the north country most have full basements so slabs are strange to me. Any theories why that is?

Wait a few weeks and see. A Home Depot gift card wouldn't last 1 month before I'd find something I need.

A subcompact impact wrench is pretty sweet.

Oddly enough my cousin in Glendale has a basement, only time I've ever seen one. I remember hanging down there because it wasn't as hot.

No basements there either? It was weird for me living in Florida for the same reason. I only saw a few buildings in Florida with a basement. Very common here, especially in older homes. Most new homes are on a slab. I was told it's cheaper to build.

Winds don't get that bad and the tarantulas dig holes in the ground.

Well, you norther people are known to be weird.

That is unusual. Is this cousin a female and if so, is she hot?

I did. Got rid of the musty smell and the draftyness. Temps were more in line with the rest of the house too.

So is having an aerator in your pool, but I guess that's what you get for living in hell on earth. And that cousin is a male, but my other freeloader cousin lives there and is female, ya' like meth?

Oppositely odd from around here. How do you get to the plumbing and electrical and hvac. All from above?

Your screwed, lots of houses have in slab plumbing, and most hvac is run overhead; but we don’t really have many attics out here……

On my (and most) houses, the plumbing is underground, the main comes out of the ground on the side of the house about 1.5', then through the brick wall, other lines run under the slab like, at least on mine the hot water, (ask me how I know). Electric is the same, underground and then up the side to the external box. My A/C refrigerant lines run from the external heat pump under the slab to the air handler inside.

Usually when SHTF, new lines are run up and over the roof.

Oops, i meant to say sill plate, not rim joists (i’m going to go back and edit my posting)!!!! I’ve literally spent months over the years in tiny cramped crawl spaces installing vapor barriers, sump pumps, repairing dry rot, and excavating with mini shovels and claw hammers to gain the allowable clearance that’s required by code.

The worst crawl space was one that had about 30” of height. It had been flooded out and there was only about 10” of clearance between the surface of the water and the underside of the fiberglass insulation. Since i was the skinny guy on the jobsite, i was drafted into wading on my hands and knees for about 30’ though the water to turn on the sump pump. There was just enough room to keep the upper portion of my face out of the water WHILE having my head rubbing against all the fiberglass. This was also after dark during the wintertime so it was about 43 degrees outside. It was absolutely miserable, especially when the part when the submerged extension cord kept electrocuting me...relentlessly until i got back out of the water. Tell you what, when you work in the absolute worst conditions, everything else comes easy.
