    Fun tidbit:

I just talked to my nearest Toyota stealership because Parts.Toyota.com wouldn't let me order a part for pickup, it was ship-only the most convenient (not closest) dealership to me.

Call the dealership. Dude tells me he's having the same issue, and the Toyota parts system doesn't let you do in-store pickup anymore. "Huh". Best price he could give me was list (i.e. MSRP). I begrudgingly had him order new swaybar bushings that way, $65 is what it would've come to.

Hop back on the Toyota Parts website. Go to the dealership north of town where we used to get all our parts/service from. Wtf. They let me do in-store pickup. It's a $4 upcharge, but it's like $20 cheaper, and only 4 miles of extra driving (~25 mins knowing my luck).

Man, I wish it was as easy to order parts with their new website BS as it was with the old one.

I wonder if there will be another Black Friday discount this year. I saved a decent amount of my lower control arms last year. I'm still unclear who we should be ordering from now to get the free shipping over $75 deal.

Ggggrrrrrr! Imagine the trouble for those of us not accustomed to working through these orders even before the swap. I'm still looking for a discounted source for the console component I need for my son's new (used) Avalon. I've had different prices on same sites. Apparently I'm not smart enough to use the internet anymore. :anonymous:

Totally agree. I like @bmf4069 color scheme the most, but I'd take the green too. Especially garage kept.

@shifty` i know we’ve been thru this before, but just to clarify before I make a purchase; I’m going to buy a replacement fob for my aftermarket keyless system. As long as the FCCID matches, I should be G2G, correct? My FCCID is ELVAT5C, and I’ve found identical used fobs on Erbay, some matching my ID, and others not.
Alternatively, if I found a different model but the ID matched, I should be good? Or have I got it all wrong?

ELVAT5C is not an OEM fob. (Duh, wait, that's what you said)

Yes, you should be correct, but programming .... I'm not sure how much I can help on that.

@RUSTYNUTS do you have access to the brain? Is there a box wired to it, or a button/LED box anywhere? Do you see any wiring that goes to a flip/toggle (valet) switch anywhere?

Well it appears that Kirby vacuum I picked up for cheap money definitely has an issue with the brushes turning, so I'll have to pull it apart this weekend to see if it's just a stretched belt or something worse.

Edit: Just checked it out, definitely a bad belt that’s overstretched.

Yes the system unit (small black box with several connector ports w/ harnesses connected and a couple serial barcode stickers on it) is ziptied up under the dash. When this came up before, I posted a pic of my fob and you correctly guessed it to be a prestige unit. I found the same fob for sale as 'new' and includes programming info. I could probably try to get the programming details from the Voxx website, although I'm sure the fob itself is discontinued thru them. Is there anything on the black box that would be of any use? I was under the impression that I just need the FCCID and programming info.

It’s almost universal for many old alarms, to program a new remote, you find the valet switch, turn the key to ON, flip the valet switch on/off three times, some will chirp at you, then you tap the #1 button on the new remote. It should chirp back at you to confirm it got it.

Sometimes it’s two flicks of the switch, IIRC. It’s been a minute since I did this shit!

Sometimes if you find the black box/brain you can trace its wires to find the valet switch if it’s not in an obvious spot. It’s helpful in that regard.

I thought it was just a button for the valet, not a toggle. I'll have to go out and look

It may be a button. We always used a toggle switch, usually small silver thing and we would typically hide it somewhere up under the lip of the dash. Switch because when you dropped off with the valet you needed the valet mode to lock into position I.e. on/off

Okay..... just found the complete 12 page PDF - instructions for transmitter programming on their website, and yes it will be a toggle for the valet. I remember stuffing the armed/disarmed LED indicator up in the dash when it was in my way one time but don't remember a switch. I'll check it out. Thanx for your help bud

yeah, I was thinking and on/off button, not momentary, so same function as a toggle. That's what I remember having on another truck with an aftermarket system I installed anyways

Rust free, few dents maybe PDR-able. 135k. Tow pkg. Nicely optioned. Sadly only 2WD.

I have my ivan stewart grille, I forget which TW guy I got it from (can probably find in 1st gen bst archives). It's heavy and I think two of the studs are cracked off but it mounted fine and some photos in the 1st gen grille thread I could find if I tried. I had it repainted from silver to 056 natural white and put a red TRD on it or maybe the black one, cannot remember.

But, I think for an '06 it won't fit clean, it's meant for older FGT's with the bottom lip, right?

Yeah, I realized that after I posted. I just like the look of the color-matched trim with the recessed black grille and TRD emblem. Too bad nobody makes it for my truck. The closest thing I've seen is the TRD Pro grille, but I'd have to sand the outer trim and higher center bar smooth, tape off the recessed black part, then paint it to match my truck. Not sure I want to go through all that hassle.
