I'd argue the ground clearance is good enough for 95% of drivers.

 

As long as they plow the roads in time where you live. I’ve had a friend stuck in Salem, NH where they don’t plow side roads till 10 am.

 

Trade your dad crackie for the silver truck & build a platform instead of the back seat for the kid to crawl around on. Works like a champ.

 

Bro, not sure if it's interesting but ... this guy in @FirstGenVol's neck of the woods has been hammering CL for the last, like, 2-3 months looking for a RCLB shell.

Probably because I didn't have an asking price or in the wrong section

 

AWD seems up make more of a difference on the road than ground clearance.

I'm on a side road that only gets plowed if the school buses are running and my Altima has had no issues getting through up to 10 inches.

 

Well you must be a great driver getting through 10” of heavy wet snow.

I'm finally breaking down and buying new jackstands. As much as I'd love a QJ system, I'm kinda on the fence between the D-41610 from US JACK and the 1310s from Sunex. I personally prefer pin-lock style stands. I have a pair of well-used ratchet-type stands after giving away my old pin type stands a couple years back because they were too short for the 1GT. I'm open to whatever, but suspect I'll need to tear into my front suspension again soon, so I'm gearing up.

I have these, and they work great for both my tundras. Can't speak for them on concrete like you have, but they are fantastic on a plywood sheet above gravel.

I'll vouch for the big red's also. I put my ram 3500 on 4 all the time, and its something like 12k with all the tools in it.

I think most jack stands are made by children in some far off land, so I always leave the jack under what im working on. If the wheels are coming off they go under too.

someday I'll pull the trigger on a two post lift.

 

Anybody else running Desert Armor LEDs?

1 of my pods has 3 out of the 4 LEDs malfunctioning. I've had these on the truck for just over 2 years and use them sparingly.

I emailed Desert Armor this morning about replacing the pod. We shall see.

 

That's a ton of money to me for jack stands. I have 6 ton jack stands made by Torin that I'm happy with. Chinese made of course.

Those US Jackstands are nice though I'm assuming they are actually made here?

My main. Concern with jackstanda is whether they are tall enough for a lifted Tundra. My current AutoZone jack stand require some 2x4's or 4x4's under em to get the right height to actually get the tires off the ground

That's exactly why I got those. My other 3 ton jack stands were not really tall enough.

 

I dont know if they have a brand name, but i got some awesome pin style jackstands from an estate sale that have threaded pads. They're heavy, so in the driveway i use regular deathstands, but if i needed to pull wheels on an uneven surface, they'd fit the ticket.

 

That’s something I haven’t seen. I want some. Wonder if they still make them that way at all.
