I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra with no aftermarket parts like auto start. The key fobs work and doors lock and unlock fine.

The other day the doors started clicking twice, it appears that they do two unlock cycles every time the door is closed and the key is in the ignition (whether the truck is running or not).

Note the truck is not unlocking the doors because the doors were locked with the key inside, this is a new strange thing occurring.

I want to say that's a warning signal of something. Could be battery getting low, or maybe door switch.

Did you ever fix it? Mine started doing the same thing out of nowhere.

Mine started this when I replaced the driver door latch.

I had a lot of other issues at the time so I couldn't pin it on the door latch. I tried swapping out that master control on the driver side because several things quit working like a rear door quit locking. However just reseating the original control seem to resolve most of it

Still having that double lock so I think I'm gonna go back and swap out that door latch again just to see. I believe I used an aftermarket latch, so I'll probably go OEM

will be watching closely to see what you find out

Another issue that started at that time was being unable to lock / unlock all four doors with the key at the driver door with a double turn. I mostly use the key fob, so it's not a huge issue, but I would like to get the original functionality back

I tried that when I replaced the window regulator and motor. It corrected one problem, but not the problem with the key being able to unlock / lock all four doors with a double turn.

Now that I think about it, I believe I read somewhere on these forums that was a programmable feature. I might want to check that as well.

However, that double clicking when locking has been consistent throughout, so it still may be the aftermarket latch since I already disconnected and reconnected when replacing the window motor

Great. Thanks! I pulled the switch panel to disconnect and reconnect it to see if that would work and saw this. A red wire with yellow stripe and silver bands was pulled out of its butt splice. Hooked it back up and no more double unlock. Problem solved. Thanks again.

This would suggest someone has put an aftermarket alarm in your car, and that's part of a relay that would be required for the alarm to remotely control the door locks.

That sucks, because all alarms eventually cause starting issues, door lock issues, window issues.

Thanks that helps. Even though mine doesn't have butt slices, I believe it is still the same issue. That's why mine is flaky. Just a bad / borderline connection
