Well, as I'm fully aware this thread is about camper shells or whatever, I'd rather hear about the time you shit your pants while shooting at a fawking bear.

Damn, and windoor sliders on the mid-rise cap. You've got like $2k sitting on the back of your truck

(I doubt you'd get that much, but ... in an ideal market that's probably what it'd be worth, too bad it's an unusual color cap, else you'd have a larger buying segment.)

Can't decide if I wanna go with a softopper or a hard shell. Would be nice to fold the softy and storage would be way easier and a one person job but I feel the hard shell would look better. Just so hard to find a decent one with good paint and glass that actually fits the DC.

I picked up a used softopper about 6 months ago that was in near mint condition. I love the thing for all the reasons you just mentioned. I can't find anything I don't like about it honestly, and I like the way looks. But I was never interested in getting a hard shell so maybe I'm just biased towards the softoppers.

This Leer 100R AC shell in Western NC is in pretty rough shape, needs brake light, has no key, absolutely needs paint, has the typical front corner damage, and seller admits a bad window seal. Should be priced closer to $200, but maybe it's interesting to someone.

Not a camper shell, but it is a bed cover. ARE brand, you can buy a replacement key, the price is stupid cheap and it looks like the struts and linkage is intact. Waaaay up in the northeast corner of TN. These normally go for a couple hundo more.

I waited over a month to contact the seller and this topper was still available. Got it for two Benjamin's which seemed like a fair price. Now the Tundra looks like a real paw-paw truck!

What kind of weather stripping y'all use between the shell and the bed? Adhesive foam strip?

Yup and adding to this, after you apply it to the bulkhead part of the cap rail, make sure, when installing the cap, you lift the cabside end of the cap up onto the bedrail, to avoid peeling back or otherwise doing bad shit to the double bubble. The weight of the cap on the double bubble should help set the adhesive. Also, be aware of your double bubble width, and how it’ll sit between the side rail caps. It’s easy to create a leak spot I. The corners. Some people will drop a line of weather strip foam like you’d use on a window ledge along the plastic rail cap to plug the right angle corner there.

ESI has instructions for when to use the different product for the front rail. The front rail is often (always?) a slightly different height than the side rails. If there's a large enough difference, they recommend that other product. My Tundra (and so I'm guessing yours) has a large enough gap that at least if you follow their instructions, you'd need that different seal for the front rail. I used it. I still have a very slight leak but I haven't tracked it down...

But I'd say people's actual experiences with their Tundra should count for more than ESIs generic, universal instructions.

I like to sprinkle talcum powder all over the bed rails when I set the cap so that it will slide to make minute adjustments without pulling the gasket off.

Nice black leer 100R supposedly for a DC in Tallahassee, only $175. Needs struts. Has roof rails.

    Scamazon struts

    these:

    C16-09209 16 inch 38 Lbs (169 N)... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096VZB737?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

they were however slightly skinnier than the ones on my 2019 and the prop rod switch wouldn’t work on them.

I'll have to take one of mine apart and measure it before ordering anything. I also need to order keys for the locking latches.

Unfortunately Jason's website is not very helpful and I can't find a way to contact them.

Yeah, skip them. Reach out to these guys: https://truckoutfittersplus.com/truck_topper_parts.html

They don't list Jason as a brand, but Ranch is really similar to Jason, and they'll be able to tell you how to measure the struts and get you some good reliable ones. They have literally every seal and shit you need too.

These guys have a ton of stuff too, but I've never bought from them. Truck Outfitters+ is where I bought nearly everything to rehab my shell.

Note there is a Jason dealer that may not be horribly far from you. I plugged in rando zip code that's at least within 60 miles of where I think you may be, but here's the locator for them: https://jasoncaps.com/dealer-locator/?find=find&info=dealers
