The passenger moog upper ball joint snapped off going camping yesterday in my 2000 RWD V8 I bought last year. I replaced the ball joint with another moog. I think the lower ball joints were recalled from 2002-2004. It looks like spacers above the struts contributed by increasing the angle and stress from the upper control arm on the upper ball joint.
Someone had said to weld female bungs and add limit straps but I don’t know much about that.
Any recommendations? Is there a steering knuckle or different control arms from a 2006 tundra I should use? If I’m going to replace all the ball joints and tie rods, what else should I replace? I think I also read calipers from a later generation are bigger and better.

Doesn’t look like I’m allowed to post photos.

Think you need 50 posts to post pics. Just start blabbing and you’ll get there. Sounds like MEGA work you’ll be doing.

I was able to post pics way before that. I checked and my seventh post had some there.

It may be an ID 10 T Error?

two options, remove the lift and replace the upper. or replace the upper arms with control arms designed for the extra lift. as for the lower ball joint i only recommend the OEM joints. bit more money, but they dont fail as commonly as aftermarkets and when our lowers fail, it DESTROYES things. (rack, CV, fender, ETC) god forbid it happens at speed

Moog sucks for 1st gen tundras, tacos and 3rd gen 4runners, go OEM only for durability.

my opinion of most moog products anymore is very bad.. lol my ex girlfriends moog tie rod lasted all of 300 miles before the joint pulled out and put her stratus into a tree at 20 mph.
