19 dead, 50 injured after reports of ‘explosion’ at Ariana Grande concert in England
Posted 4:51 pm, May 22, 2017, by Joe Dahlke, Updated at 06:39PM, May 22, 2017
MANCHESTER, England — At least 19 people were killed and 50 others are injured following reports of an “explosion” at an Ariana Grande concert at England’s Manchester Arena on Monday, British police confirmed.

It happened just before 10:35 p.m. local time, police said. Authorities are currently treating it as a “terrorist incident until police know otherwise,” Greater Manchester Police said on Twitter.

Concertgoers claim two explosions were heard just after the concert ended, Sky News reports. The UK bomb disposal team is on scene.

A representative for Grande told Billboard that the singer is “okay” following the incident.

Videos flooded social media following the news that showed people running inside the arena.

Another video showed police arriving to the arena following the report.

“It was a really big explosion. Everybody started screaming and running,” concertgoer Catherine Macfarlane told Reuters. “It was a huge explosion — you could feel it in your chest. It was chaotic. Everybody was running and screaming and just trying to get out.”

“It was a really big explosion. Everybody started screaming and running,” Ivo Delgado, another witness, told CNN. “There were people on the floor … There was a lot of confusion.”

Manchester Arena is the largest indoor arena in Europe and has a capacity of 21,000 people, according to its website.

It was the first of three scheduled shows in the UK for Grande’s “Dangerous Woman Tour.” She is scheduled to perform at The O2 Arena in London on Thursday and Friday.

Prayers sent out to all those affected by such a senseless act of terror. I miss the days when this kind of news wasn't part of our world.

This was not a senseless act, it was an act of war. Suicide attacks like these serve a purpose - to spread the ideology of these Ghazi warriors and break the will of their enemies. Calling the enemy senseless is a gross underestimation of their determination and capability. They've even realized that they don't have to get past a security gate anymore, they can just blow up a crowd waiting or slowly moving outside of one and kill more people that way. It seems as though the countries of Western Europe are unwilling to defend themselves or do anything meaningful to take the fight to the enemy so I'd say that this strategy is working out well so far. Western Europe is turning into a giant version of Lebanon.

And the fact she's is young it's gotta be heavy to believe it was because of the congregation at her show. Obviously I don't know her level of thinking but to feel that pressure at such a young age no matter her fault or not she has to feel some guilt. I, too, feel for her and her emotional state.

This death cult is not compatible with Western civilization. I fear that Europe is lost, they have been sold up the river by their "leaders". I bet those Brits wish they didn't allow themselves to be disarmed now. Buckle up gents it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Welp, time to dust off those UK flag profile pictures and post a status about thoughts and prayers and then continue to support ignorant policies because your college professor told you that we need to be more accepting and tolerant.

That's really not the right way to look at the enemy. If they were cowards they would just sit at home and collect welfare checks. This is a form of war, which the governments of Western Europe don't seem to have the will to fight. Having a bunch of hardware and equipment isn't useful if you have no will to survive. The barbarians aren't at the gates, they've been let inside them.

It makes my blood burn. You guys saw the videos mostly women and kids. Hopefully meaningful policy will arise. And it's so infuriating that it takes women and children to die to even consider some kind of shift. I was told what happens in Europe is training for what they want to pull Off here. Any combat veterans with more training on this chime in and verify if what I heard is legit or not. My heart hurts for the victims and screams death to the enemy.

    Stay vigilant men

These terrorists are fn cowards. Always picking a soft target. The enemy is inside the gate yet Europe continues to commit cultural suicide. The fkn frogs had a chance to elect LePen yet instead chose Maricon. PC masochists...

There is nothing courageous about killing innocent girls at a concert. They haven't even the honor to put on a uniform so that their enemy might know them. They prefer to hide behind the very children, they consider disposable. If that is not abject cowardice I don't know what is.

As a kid who grew up in Manchester, I don't remember a time when terrorism wasn't in the news.

It probably didn't get that much publicity over here but the IRA were car bombing the shit out of England.

The justification and the causes change... Mindless violence is always mindless violence regardless of the supposed justification.

I too long for a day when it stops but with hypersensationalized media, our differences are emphasized rather than diminished and you get a self perpetuating disaster.

Hopefully this post isn't considered political, I just felt the need to point out that Manchester had long been the victim of terrorism long before isis, Al quaeda or the latest nut job cause

When I said "senseless" I meant the people who do this kind crap have no emotion for killing innocent people. That is what extremist do and it's absolutely a waist on the people affected. I agree that people with ill intent are always be very capable but neither you or anyone else can defend themselves from people like this. But I wouldn't call them "warriors" like you just did. People who kill defenseless and innocent people do not deserve to be honored with a word meaning brave. All of us like to enjoy our freedoms doing things like a concert or a movie and any one of us could have had this happen to us. So do you really think it's really the fault of those who died because they "are unwilling to defend themselves"? All I was trying to convee in my post was prayers for those affect and these kinds of events are a tragedy. I wasn't expecting you to get on a soap box over the word senseless. I'm also a proud supporter of our armed forces and have several family and friends who serve this great nation.

Someone needs to shove a pipe bomb up that bastard's ass and do just enough damage to take out some organs but not kill that F-er!!!!

I'm not about capital punishment...but i am about suffering for assholes like that. No prison, no lethal injection, no electricity, but dismembering important pieces that provide ease, comfort, and "pleasure."

One of my best friends lives in Lebanon and the stories he tells of his childhood can only be imagined unless you've seen it (which i have not) in action. There are many on this forum alone that have witnessed acts that i would have a hard time living with. By the way...i appreciate every one of you that served to keep this type of violence minimal on our soil!

Capital punishment is too easy on these guys and prison isn't enough to stop it. I'm sure i will draw a little controversy with my views but I do not believe people should die, nor live, under acts of this type of violence, among other types that I won't even get into on this particular thread.

I apologize if this offends anyone. Not my intention...just expressing my lack of respect for violent individuals with intent to hurt the innocent

If you've ever watched any isis videos then you will see how incredibly evil these fkrs are. And nothing is more evil than murdering children. While our 8yo are riding bikes, playing video games, and going to Ariana Grande concerts, their 8yo are breaching doors, clearing houses, and executing prisoners planted inside. Dark beyond words.
