The bolster on my 1794 is showing a little wear like they all do. I know it’s common per my searching, but wasn’t really sure what y’all are doing to fix. New seat bottom cover is like $470 from sparks plus install or the upholstery shop around the corner wants $250 to replace the vinyl with new. Did Toyota fix the material so if I were to replace the cover it wouldn’t wear again, or will the same crap happen?

Your local upholstery shop should be able to repair it. As for it happening again utilize your running boards/steps, stand on them to get in and out of the seat, don't slide across the seat. It takes some getting used to. I've seen a lot of this , especially with lifted trucks.

Jason has it right. Running your ass across a seat bolster is the issue. We have 4 vehicles all with leather, and I've showed my wife how not to enter / exit a vehicle to keep bolster wear to a minimum. They all look perfect. My '09 Civic has 175K on it, it's my DD, the leather drivers seat still is perfect, not a single blemish. I do take care of my leather interior, so that helps, but a lot of it wear is on how you get in/out of the truck.

We also have an '08 limited edition MX-5 with brown saddle leather in it, again, looks absolutely perfect. Get some running boards if you don't already have them and step down into the truck, or use the grab handle to pull yourself in.

I wouldn't buy a new seat cover and then pay someone to install it. Have a upholstery shop fix it, most professional shops should be able to hook you up and you'll never know it was damaged, plus it's cheaper than a new seat cover.

Just want to chime in that this seems to be a 1794 issue only. My 2016 Platinum seats have ~38k miles on them and they are showing no wear at all.

I would go with the local shop as from what I've seen, I don't think Toyota has fixed the issue.
