Hey everyone I am currently waiting on a dealer allocation for a 4x4 1794 crewmax. I’ve been waiting for going on 2 months now and haven’t seen barely any dealership getting them in! All the dealerships in my area “Austin, TX” seem to be getting in a bunch of SR5’s. Has anyone heard of a reduction in production of the higher end models?

I have been on a waiting list since January for 1794 and haven't heard anything yet. A couple dealers around me (Salt Lake) have had them and have them incoming but they are charging over so I'm not bothering with them.

yeah I’m not paying over msrp lol. I have a dealer here in cedar park, TX and in San Antonio trying to find me one! Just sold my Tacoma the other day so I kinda need another personal truck. Or I guess I’ll have to keep driving the company truck with free gas for a while longer haha

Most of the higher-level trims are taking much longer to produce and in far fewer numbers because they require a lot more electronics than the base trim, and they sell in a lot lower volume. That's how it was explained to me by several Toyota dealers (including some in the Austin area) late last year when I was shopping for a 4Runner Limited or TRD Pro, or a Tundra Limited or higher. Expect to see many more SR5s than top-end trims, which in turn will of course increase the price of the higher trims significantly.

That’s kind of what I figured since they are requiring more chips. Looks like the SR5s are selling pretty well so I doubt they are in a rush to produce more of the higher trims.

Been in the same boat as you since Jan. Looking for a Limited, and more recently, for a 1794 or Limited. Just found an unsold 1794.

I'm seeing a lot of SR5s and Platinums, for some reason, available.

I had a deposit with that dealer already (for a Limited), and this 1794 is now assigned for me. MSRP, no add ons.

    Yeah, I feel fortunate.

I'm buying a 1794 from Cedar Park. Should be coming in early this week. I put a deposit down back in October or November, though I was #6 in line for a hybrid. They texted me last week and said they had a grey one coming in with the lighter cream interior, and asked if I wanted it. I said yes. Hopefully it'll be there in the next few days. I got a feeling the other 5 people on the list said no because it wasn't the darker interior. I think it'll be good though.

Only problem is I live in South Florida. Hopefully should be in your neck of the woods soon to pick it up.

Let me see if I got this right. You are getting a grey hybrid 1794 in a few days, hopefully?

Grats on the truck nonetheless. Welcome from Colorado.

Did I miss something? Yes, I was kind of surprised. I told them I wanted grey, white, or black; advanced package; preferred 5.5 bed; 4x4; and hybrid. When they texted, they said it was going to be 2-3 weeks, and then suddenly it was built on 4/29 a few weeks early. Not really sure I understand how a truck gets built a few weeks early, but I'm guessing it was originally headed somewhere else. It has a bunch of accessories I don't want or need, but at this point I need a truck and it checked all my boxes.

I was surprised since I haven't seen anyone post about getting a hybrid on this forum yet. Not that they haven't but I just haven't seen anyone post. It's a unicorn situation. That's awesome. I am partial to the 1794s. Probably one of the first ones in the country to be released. Some folks have checked into hybrids and have been told that they could get one around maybe August or September.

All the dealers around here were charging over MSRP ($10k) or wouldn’t commit to selling me a truck at msrp but wouldn’t tell me what the premium would be in 6 months.

My brother lives in Austin. Back in October/November both Autonation and Cedar Park told me they’d sell me one at MSRP. I figured my dad and I would fly out, visit with my brother and drive home. In the end, I thought it’d be a fun way to buy.

big question- any good bbq in Cedar Park?

that is why I have a deposit at cedar park Toyota! Msrp sales price and a refundable deposit if I find a truck somewhere else. If you don’t mind me asking who’s your sales person?

As Far as good bbq in cedar park I would probably say slab bbq is the best in this area buttttt if your path leads you downtown I love terry blacks or franklins! Well worth the trip!

Texas is severely known for allocating a butt load of SR5’s for unknown reasons.

Don’t blame Toyota.. blame our regional distributor Gulf States Toyota. They’re a bunch of jackasses who allocate dog sh*t to the five states that they own.

I'm about to give up on 1794. Will see what dealer says this month. Could have gone with a Limited last month and I declined. May not decline this time.

I would triple check window sticker that it really is a hybrid. I’m looking for just about the same and have had a few sales people send me links to non hybrids not understanding the difference

Originally was going for Blue/cream leather 1794 w/ TRD OR package. Now would go for a few different color combinations. But if I can't get TRD OR I would not want it and go for Platinum instead, or maybe Limited w/ TRD OR package, sunroof, etc. 4 months since I put my deposit down and nothing yet - other than the Limited w/ no TRD OR I could have gone for.

Was just notified that a short bed hybrid 4x4 wcp 1794 was available end of this month, being built on the 13th- scooped it up. Wish it was the 6.5ft bed, but oh well!

I’m late to the game on all of this, I put a deposit down at a dealership last week and they said it would be 6-9 months for a 1794 to come in. I was fine w that but then I started researching more and more and got more excited to get one.

So, I called a different local dealership on this past Wednesday early in the morning and somehow lucked out while on the phone talking about getting on their list too when they said they had one allocated and unspoken for… I jumped on it.

literally an hour later, my first dealership called me saying they had a hybrid 1794 w the cream interior w a build date of 6/16 available… I declined as I hadn’t done a ton of research on the hybrid and it was missing some add ins but am so far happy w my first lucky find.

later this month I should get my 1794 black w tan interior w TRD OR package and running boards for msrp… I think I made the right choice for me, but time w tell. They are out there though… don’t wait on the sales people.
