Did you notice any fluid leaks and did you check the fluid level?

My guess would be either transmission fluid is low, or poor electrical connections (such as disconnected plug or rodents chewing on wires) is causing the vehicle to not put he transmission in gear. Look up the transmission drain and fill procedure and associated fluid level check procedure here on the site.
