    Hello!

I am a recent Tundra purchaser and first time Tundras poster. The tires on my new-to-me truck are nearly shot and I figured this was a good time to go ahead and upgrade to some 18s. I originally wanted some all black TRD OEMs, but I've seen how insanely expensive those can run. I then ran across these Rock Warriors that are listed for $1,200. Is there anything glaring that says I shouldn't purchase them? Any issues with the 17" rim on the non TRD 2.5 gen? I haven't seen them in person yet, but will this weekend.

If these do look good, will there be any issue mounting them with some 28570r17 AT4s? I plan on keeping the truck stock for the foreseeable future.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm running 17's on my truck, '21 Limited. Just make sure whoever balances them is competent as the stick on weights need to be strategically placed to not interfere with the brake calipers.

Absolutely zero issues! That was the stock tire size on those and it will fit your truck guaranteed. The only small thing to note is that you might have to mention to the tire shop to be mindful of the calipers and the wheel weights when they are balancing since the clearances are very tight.

Would you mind sharing your experience with where these weights should be placed exactly. I am working on a set and should be mounting them soon.

Essentially, if you look at the back of the rim, or mount it with no tire, the weight need to go forward of the caliper (towards the spokes) or behind where the caliper is, so that when the rim rotates, the weights won't make any contact with the caliper. You also cannot double stack them.

i can try to get a picture tomorrow as it's starting to get dark out here

Your description makes perfect sense. More to the outside of the rim closer to the face/spokes.

Yep, exactly. Easy to see where you can, and cannot place them with just the rim mounted temporarily, and check the rotational path where the caliper would interfere.

Thanks everyone, noted the point about the calipers. I'll be sure to mention that if I move forward with purchase. What about price point at $1,200? Is that high, or what these tend to go for?

Here is a picture of mine.
    IMG_1185.jpg
The ones closer to the spokes are well placed and there is a ledge there that they sit nicely on. The ones inside of that are really close to the caliper but luckily are low profile enough that it has not been an issue. Semi related note, I also have a spacer on the fronts so the ‘safe’ zone is different front and rear which my local discount was able to verify clearance for both so I can still rotate my tires.

That is a pretty typical price for the condition that those appear to be in. It depends on a lot of factors obviously but I have seen some absolutely beat wheels go for around $500 and pristine wheels at the high end at around $15-1600. If the person selling them does not know what they are, some really nice sets can be found for that ~$500 range but if the seller is aware of what they are they can command whatever price they want really. I managed to snag mine with good rubber for $1200 and they are in good shape.

    Clean looking ride!
Are you just running the spacers on the front? Was that because something was rubbing? What tire size?

Yup just spacers on the front. 37x12.5r17 with the SPC uppers so I need the spacer to keep the tire off the UCA.

I will mirror what Brandon said. Price is ok not terrible. I snagged my set with decent tires also for $1k. The rims were in worse shape then yours.

Got it. I’m going with the tires they came with for now 295/70. I would tike to go bigger but I daily 88 miles and my wallet would hate me.

You mind sharing what paint you used. Yours appear to match the original color very well.

Duplicolor Graphite Wheel paint, it’s a little darker in person but pretty close.

Lift: Ironman4x4 3.5" foam cell (not the pro since there was and still to a smaller extent is an issue with the coils on the pro kit) I did not take before and after measurements, so I don't know exactly where I ended up with the lift but my pop's stock truck is in the picture so you can imagine right? :p

Tires: 37x12.5r17 Milestar Patagonia MT-02, nothing super special to say about them they were cheap and they work well off-road, on-road they are kinda meh.

Wheels: Rock warriors of course with a 1.25" spacer on the front because of the SPC UCA. I have seen people say they can get the stock upper control arms and 12.5" wide tires to not contact, but, the SPC has a bunch more material up there that gets in the way unfortunately. I need the uppers though since I had a weird alignment problem that I found when I jumped up in tire size.
