2024 Tundra Double Cab (stock for now)
    Hello guys.

Need help. I've got a 2014 SR 4WD with the 4.6. The truck is mostly stock except with Bilstein shocks in the front on the middle setting which I believe gives the front a 1.5" lift.

The stock rims are starting to rust and I'd like to replace them.

I'd also like to fit a slightly taller tire. The reason for the taller tire is that I live at the end of a 1/2 dirt road in Central NY that is not maintained by the state. I could also get nailed for a 16 hour shift at work where it could snow a lot.

I like the look of the rims on the new Tundra. I also like the look of some of the black rims by some of the forum memembers.

    Questions:
    1. Will the new 2020 rim fit on my 2014?
    2. What is a popular choice for a totally black rim?
    3. What would be a good choice for a slightly taller tire size wise?
    4. What would be a good tire with an aggressive tread? Mostly snow, ice and slush.
    5. I assume the tire inflation sensors will need to be switched over to the new rims. Am I right?
Thanks for your time and knowledge.

    1. 2007-2021 Tunrdas all have the same bolt pattern. I think. 2014-2021 definitely do.
    2. So many. Some just powder coat the TRD Off Road (not the Pro) wheels on the 2018+ trucks. The popularity of aftermarket wheels also makes finding a set of take offs pretty easy.
    3. I put 275/70R18s on my truck at stock height. I had to remove the front air dam on the bumper (lots of people refer to it as the little mud flap on the front bumper) and I have some minor rubbing on the actual mud flap while reversing at full lock. I believe this is due to the tire I chose as other members have put the same size tire on without rubbing.
    4. So far I am pleased with my Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires. They are 3 peak snowflake rated and generally well reviewed. BFG KO2 is another popular tire, but in my experience they are not good in wet conditions. YMMV
    5. Short answer, yes. Long answer, there are two different angles for TPMS sensors, and the ones that work for the steel wheels are not generally suited to the alloy or aftermarket wheels. They can be used, but they are extra vulnerable to damage.
    6. BONUS INFO: If you get new TPMS sensors don't pay the exorbitant cost charged to program them! Read your owner manual's section on the TPMS button located on the lower portion of your dash.

I have all black 18x9 DAI Barret wheels on my '15. They are, if I remember correctly, considered a "winter rim" whatever that means (likely that they are all powder coated with no bare aluminum) They were inexpensive and look good without being too flashy. The offset is +20, and with stock tires they fit no problem. They stick out far enough to look good without being too flashy (same as the comment regarding styling). I am planning on putting 33's on them with a 2" level...I havent managed to do this yet though I think it will fit just fine.

    To help a lil bit...

    1. Will the new 2020 rim fit on my 2014? tundra 2007+ has same bolt pattern. check C/L, FB marketplace, sale pages for wheels...sometimes you find good stuff cheap!
    2. What is a popular choice for a totally black rim? check out websites like customoffsets.com or something to see different wheels on your truck. what looks good on one color may not look good on another. honest opinion...don't go with popular
    3. What would be a good choice for a slightly taller tire size wise? check out link below for info on tires and sizes
    4. What would be a good tire with an aggressive tread? Mostly snow, ice and slush. lots of good experiences with BFG KO2, cooper AT3, Falken wildpeaks...research. But ask locals to you that encounter same kind of stuff as you. i'm from Louisiana, so my opinion on this would be useless since I don't encounter it.
    5. I assume the tire inflation sensors will need to be switched over to the new rims. Am I right? correct. the tpms out of the steel wheels aren't compatible with aftermarket or other wheels
