About a week ago, my dash started giving a warning I had never seen before accompanied by annoying dinging. My Kenwood has OBD2 integration and the vehicle reporting popped up rear door open warning. I stopped, checked, damn thing is closed. I opened & firmly closed it no warning, hit a bump, warning.

I looked for the switch, there is no normal switch like on all 4 doors. Searched the google, the closest I have found was it's part of the handle.

I just went out, no warnings going over sped bumps at 20+

    Anyone have this happen?

New symptom, can't lock the truck with the fob, it thinks the door is open. I pulled the panel, everything looks fine. Although the door closes it clicks repeatedly when closed and then gives a long error beeeeeeeeeep

Not that anyone cares but yesterday I got a battery light, it was charging at 13.2. I checked the battery and it was at 11.7 when off, I gave it 10 amps until at 100% all night and so far no door warning.

I had issues with the latching mechanism on my 2015. It wasn't latching and the door would open on its own when driving, a few holy shit moments for sure. i tried manually moving the latch while the door was fully open and it seemed to hold ok but not when trying to latch onto the striker. I tried adjusting the striker, thinking it maybe got out of place, but nothing seemed to work. I small piece of rubber inside the latching mechanism fell out so maybe that was the issue. It was also a little packed with dirt.

I purchased a replacement off ebay and the issue went away before I could swap out the part. Sounds like a different issue than yours but the latching mechanism was my issue.

Mine was always latched, it seemed to be the latch, replacing it made no change. I don't get how everything else was fine but the damn latch needed full voltage.

    Weird.

My issue seemed to show itself once it started to get cold last year but I'm not sure you have the same problem where you are.

I'm in Phoenix. It hasn't gotten under 40 and I have not driven under 70.

It had been happening over speedbumps yesterday it beeped once over a speedbump but immediately stopped.

    Freaking weird.

I think I figured out the back door alarm problem.

The fuse for the door system was slightly corroded. I replaced it and cleaned the contacts in the fuse box. On a sample of 1 20 minute trip the issue didn't happen
