I just got my 2023 Tundra limited Iforce Max TRD off-road. I drove it about 160 miles city and highway and consistently am getting 12 -14 MPG. I am not towing and the truck is empty with the OEM tires. Is this normal? Thank you.

Give it a few gas tankfuls to let the ECU figure things out.

If it stays on 12 MPG, sell it and get a Gen 2.5, I'm getting 12.9 mpg..

Have a buddy with a 2023 platinum, small lift and bigger tires. Towed his boat about 150 miles and averaged 4.7 miles per gallon!!!!! :eek2::eek:

I’ve only burned thru one tank in my 2023 non-hybrid, but I’m happy to report it got 19.9 mpg in a combination of city and highway miles, including 250 miles in the Colorado mountains. That’s 5 mpg better than my 2015 Tundra ever got. I’m pleased, so far.

Idling will kill fuel mileage. Keep rpm's low. Drive like grandma and see what you can get it to do.

I'm getting approximately the same mileage as with my 2014: 12-13mpg. To be clear this is per the dash. I have the same tires and same approximate lift configuration.

I have a 22 non hybrid TRD OR Limited. Was constantly getting 12-14 mpg around town until I got the TSB for throttle hesitation. After the TSB was installed I went to 17-19 mpg around town. Seems to be a pleasant side effect of the TSB.

interesting on the brake caliper. I get 13-14 on my Hybrid Limited with OEM lift and 285/65R20 tires. I'd do backflips if I could get 17.

My non-hybrid varies quite a bit. I drive the same city route to and from work. In the morning commute I get 18-21. On the way home I get 13-16. The difference is idle time. My morning commute is consistently about 13 minutes, and the way home is always 2-8 minutes longer thanks to more traffic at 5pm. I always turn off auto start/stop because nobody be messin' with my climate control in the summer. I never have, and likely never will, test using Start/Stop on the way home to see if there's a difference.

For the 1,700 miles I have so far, the overall average is in the 16MPG range. I've gotten everything from 12.x - 22.x MPG on individual trips.

@Eurodriver would you mind sharing how you found the stuck caliper? Jack the truck up and spin the wheels? Searched for your thread but didn't see how you diagnosed it.

How big is this boat? that sounds wild, mine is supercharged and bunch of other stuff and still get 9mpg when towing travel trailer.

Without being idle for a long time, going straight up Pikes Peak, or having a hole in the gas tank that seems pretty low. Your buddy wouldn't have his info set to metric would he? If so that'd make it closer to 11mpg.

One year of ownership, SR5 TRD OR, no mods that would impact MPGs. I have meticulously logged every fill-up in the Fuelio app. My current average is 16.71, the worst tank was 11.77 and the best tank was 27.26. I have 14000 miles on the truck with 4,000 of those being highway. For the past 7 months, I've used cruise control anytime I can, whether that be in town or on the highway. I'll set it for 20 MPH sometimes when our downtown traffic area and just let the truck do its thing. The adaptive radar will stop the truck if traffic ahead is stopped all you have to do is either hit the pedal, or the cruise toggle switch to get it moving again.

    - mileage gets better after a few thousand miles
    - avoid idling ( mind you hybrids just shut off )
    - stay away from ECO
    - run 91 + Octane
    - Cruise Control is your friend
    - change you dash cluster to "mpg by the trip rather than overall "....change the one in the Nav system to " by the tank ". The results give you a broader range
    - learn how to manipulate the Hybrid by the pump and coast method...this works well once you get the hang of it

I get around 21 in town and 27-29 hiway at 60-65 MPH. I dont drive like a grandpa nor am I drag racing away from every light. I drive fast enough my wife still bitches :)

you could be in the parking lot waiting for a spot and they will still complain about going to fast.

Non hybrid - upper 19’s city (normal) and mid 24’s hwy (normal). TX - 75 and NM 65.
Really saw a big jump around 3000 miles. I alternate between 93 & 89 at the pump. We get gas dollars grocery shopping so between that and Sam’s gas not bad pricing.
In winter I use ECO on HWY but normal in summer for best a/c cooling. No tint front windows or pano so inside warms a bit from that. I do use S/S city as we have long ass lights major intersections.

I hear the 3.0L Duramax gets awesome mileage too, but it's also completely irrelevant to the conversation.

Have you tried calculating the mileage manually? I’m getting about 14-15mpg in the city in my 2020 w/ 3in lift and 34” tires
