Long story short, a local shop sheared the bolt head off the 12 mm bolt in the pics. Does anyone know the specs of this bolt and where to get one? bonus points for tips on how to remove it.

    This is on a 2019 Crewmax 5.7

    Thanks in advance

I'll offer some advice, but bear in mind I literally know nothing about 3rd gens.

It seems to me that you can remove the other bolt (circled in blue) and peel back your wheel well liner? (In red.) That should at least let you investigate a potential through hole.

If you see the "bolt stud" you should be able to get irwin vise grips on it (curved jaw) and lock them on. Turning the bolt out.

After its out I would go to a local big box store (lowes, rural king, home depot.) Anywhere that has a decent hardware aisle with a bolt bin. They should have thread sizes there. If you can't figure it out there ask a staff member. That's what they are there for.

You may have to jack your truck up, and remove your tire to have room to work.

Be sure to use jack stands! Do NOT trust your LIFE on a 12 cent o-ring in a hydraulic jack!

It’s the same spec as the other 12 mm that is next to it. Use a tap and dye to remove. @Roman can get you that screw....

No need to jack truck up. I broke one too. They are easy to cross thread if not careful. I have not fixed it yet. Drill it out and retap is one option. I bought a u nut and bolt but not sure if it will work. I am going to pull the liner and try to back it out.

Use an easy out. You can buy a set at your local auto parts store. Drill a small hole in the bolt, insert the easy out and use a wrench or socket to back the bolt out.

I just ordered them online and picked up at a dealer the next day for under 2 bucks each.
    Not complicated.

Mine is stripped and stuck in the nut by a few threads as far as i can tell. All it does is spin and i cant remove it unless i cut it and even then i cant replace it as it spins and spins like the nut inside is broke or something.Body shop did it not me.I found it after i got the truck back.I removed the other 1 on and the other 2 on pass side and applied anti seize and screwed them back in by hand then tightened them.I bought a few spares.Crap design by Toyota in my opinion.

I took the whole front of my truck apart to get the chrome wrapped. Long story short, there are 4 of those pathetic 12mm bolts on the bottom and and 3 of them broke off. Drilled, heated, used chemicals and nothing. They are locked in there. Had to order 2 new bumper brackets to get it back together properly. Good luck!

I did the exact same thing yesterday when I was taking my rear bumper off to fix a dent. First bolt I went for a cranked on it and the thing sheared right off. Apparently those bolts get pretty snug especially if you live in a rust prone environment. Rest of the bolts I proceeded with caution and a lot of wd40. I washed the bolts off with wd-40 and they looked almost new when I put them back on. As far as getting that bolt out a screw extractor your best bet. Hardest part is acquiring the oem 12mm bolts. They are not cheap.
