Just bought my 2009 tundra bout a month ago. Left front wheel bearing was bad and Toyota said would fix for me. My wife went to pick up and the guy at the desk told her it was just over $1000 to fix. They didn’t charge us, but i couldn’t believe it was that much. Does this sound right to you guys?

It's not right, but I believe it. My Ford lost a wheel bearing and the dealer wanted $1200 to replace and do alignment. I bought a new wheel bearing off Amazon for $120 and a local tire shop changed for $90 in labor.

Its something i will prob try to do myself in the future. Prob the only time I’ll get Toyota to cover anything on that truck. I’m not the most mechanically inclined but figure i can follow directions from a YouTube video.

For a 4x4,?? Have to see the bill to justify the hrs and how much else they did??

From Toyota of Cool Springs, the bearing is $147, $14.50 each for the two seals, so $180 in parts. To do one front wheel bearing including pressing the hub out / in should be under 2.5 hours. So yeah, something seems off. Way off.

I replaced on my tacoma in the past. Something around $150-$200 for the bearing, $50 to get old pressed out and new pressed in at a shop and a few hours total to remove and reinstall
