I've had my Tundra SR5 TRD Off-Road since May 2021 and after a few months of owning the truck, I had my front and rear bumpers replaced and added several Rigid Industries LED lights, including a set of SR-Series Pro 10" Driving Lights that replaced my stock/OEM fog lights. I am running these lights using the OEM wiring and fog switches. This set of lights has an amp draw of 4.94. I am not sure if this is drawing too much power that the electrical system shuts it off after just around 15 to 20 seconds. Is there a work around to this or should I consider replacing them?

Thanks in advance if you have any insight or solutions...

Install a relay. Trigger the relay with the factory wiring and run your own fused feed directly to the battery

Thanks. Sounds good, but I am "electrical illiterate." LOL. I guess I'll have to go to a shop to have this wired up the proper way.

If you have a test light with a bulb test the power at the light when it’s giving your problems . If you have power there use the light in series to see if your ground is a good ground . Only do this when it’s giving you problems . This will isolate if it’s a wiring problem or a light problem . 5 amps isn’t a whole lot but I do realize the triuck maybe sensitive to it

Sounds like a bad product or a faulty wiring issue. I can run a light bar and ditch lights at the same time without any issues. Did you replace the stock wiring or did you splice it for the new lights?

I installed the Diode Dynamics Stealth bar recently and wired them inline with the Diode Dynamics Fog lights by using an H11 to DT LED splitter, like I had on my Tacoma. Now my fogs and stealth bar turn off after 20 seconds or so just as @romanlegion mentioned with his setup. The fog lights previously worked perfectly and stayed on without issue. I want to run the stealth light bar and fogs together by utilizing the fog switch, like I did on my Tacoma. ** Light Bar Amp - 9.8, Fog Lights - 3.8 (combined?). **

Good to know that I am not the only one experiencing this. I think this has something to do with the amount of amp draw exceeding what the OEM wiring allows. I may have to wire the fogs to my Garmin PowerSwith like how the other lights are wired.

I would say you have found the issue. These newer trucks have everything calculated by a computer nowadays right down to the air flow. Anything out of spec will cause issues.

Honestly using factory wiring is risky with higher draw lights. With my Tacoma, and all my buddies trucks I’ve done aux lighting on we have always used simple relays. It’s a way to keep factory switching with out taxing the factory wiring. You only use the factory wiring to trigger the relay, and the lights have there own feed from the battery. I think the Auxbeam switch panel may be the only safe option or an individual switch like @matth66 and others mentioned. Errr, lol. The Auxbeam just kinda seems not a Tundra thing in my Platinum like it was in my Tacoma TRD Pro, lol.

I was also trying to locate the fuse for the fogs and see if I could go larger or piggieback with an adda fuse. Do you all think that is another option?

The fuse is based on the draw and wire size, I wouldn’t just upsize the fuse. Add a fuse is an option. Always better to bring your own lead straight from the battery with an inline fuse imo.
