It’s worth whatever someone will pay…if garage kept and pristine with that few a miles …I’d buy it. I hate newer trucks.

1k miles per year, great buy.
10k miles for the first 2 years, then sitting? Less than great.

Yeah, no thanks. That's probably about $2,2500 in overdue maintenance and another $2,250 trying to freshen up rubbers and seals to fix leaks, blown bushings, etc.

Low mile ... No thanks. I've got it. You don't want it.

There's a point of lower miles being nice. I'd rather have something with more miles that you know has been used and not just sitting around having the seals, oil, gas, and whatever else just stagnating and drying out.

Paying a bit more for it to have 100k? Sure. Paying double the price for something 20 years old that still hasn't been fully broken in and probably has original 20 year old fluids in it? I'll pass.

There are a lot of folks with "virgin" mentality out there though, don't get me wrong. They'll pay more with the fantasy of getting into something with low usage seen, thinking it's a unicorn.

I'll say though, even at 62k(ish) miles when I got my truck a few years back, the damn leather seat bolsters were ripped. It had dings and chips. And I know the rear brakes had been gone over. And I know the valve covers had been off. Even low miles comes with usage, wear, and tear.

42k when I got mine and same here, my leather had a few creases and some very minor tears, but the thing I dislike the most is the leather feels kind of "dry" feeling from the sun damage. Not that supple feeling it would have if not sat in AND cared for.

Still, that price isn't terrible. It's not the $30k the pristine, low-mile ones on BaT fetch. About a year ago a small dealer in Austin sold a 23k mile 2005 double cab for I think around $21.5k, so you aren't out of market or anything. I think the issue is just the "unknowns" of a vehicle that's probably not been driven a lot. If I were in the market for a new truck but didn't want to spend $60k, had the cash to buy that one, and cash to do all the at-least-$4-5k or so in work/tires/etc. it would need to make me feel comfortable, I wouldn't hesitate, especially if the body, engine bay, and frame were in pristine shape.

The truck is in Springfield VA though. Probably has seen salt roads... and then sat, because grandpa was too old to get under there and wash the undercarriage each year.

If that was, say, a SoCal truck, I don't know many folks on here looking for a 1st gen that probably wouldn't jump all over that.

Id def ask him for some engine bay and undercarriage photos to see the real picture,

but I will say..judging from the color of that tail pipe you may be on to something here.

And yet it would probably continue on driving for 2x more miles what the new $60k Turdras go for.

I'm not sure what's crazier, the fact a ~20yr pickup can last for 600k miles on the same drivetrain with basic maintenance while a modern one can't, or that someone would pay 3x more for something that's half as reliable.

Unless it can be insured for appraised value, no thanks personally. One bad hit and you’d be lucky to recoup 50% of that. Nevermind the pain of trying to source obsolete parts via salvage yards.

I dunno, they didn't start getting super fugly until 2014. I give the earlier model 2GT folks at least a little leeway for that. Once the bulge went overboard in 2014, shit got laughable.

Lol, my 2013, which has also spent 7 years in FL but only 3 in SC has a KBB valuation of under $5k...

I'm dreading some asshole crashing into it because there isn't a cat in hell's chance that any insurance payout would get me close to a similar replacement. Heck, I'd struggle to buy a half decent bicycle for that kind of money!

What real truck today doesn’t have a racing bulge? It’s generally agreed vehicle models just get uglier as newer models become available. Although, I could see the appeal of the non-bulge over the useless bulge, especially with it’s better road visibility.
