I have a 2009 Tundra. A few days ago I couldnt get my keyfob to lock or unlock the Tundra. Instead, to get my doors locked I opened my drivers side door and hit the button to lock the doors. They all locked and then immediately unlocked automatically. I did this a few times and after not succefully locking, I walked away from it. After my next trip out, the fob and door lock function were working as they should. Everything was fine for a few days but now I'm having the same problem of the fob not working and the doors not locking for more than 1 second. Any suggestions or advice? I have confirmed that there is nothing physically in the truck interfering with the lock buttons on all four doors. Am thinking it may be time for a new fob (or battery?) but I'm not sure if that explains the doors refusing to stay locked when manually pressing the lock button.

    Thanks for the help!

It may be detecting the key in the ignition?? Next time this happens try inserting the key in the ignition and turning the key to the ACC then turning the key to the off position all the way.. I've noticed sometimes you can remove the key from the ignition and it is slightly tilted upward, theoretically thinking the key is still in the ignition... The interesting thing is the door locks will lock regardless... Maybe have the dealership reset the alarm system??

Sure enough, that was it! Thank you. My interlock on my ignition is broken, so I can remove my key at any time while driving. I just went out and checked, and the ignition was positioned between ACC and LOCK. I put the key in and moved it to LOCK and the fob and locks function as they should.

Might wanna get that resolved, God forbid someone comes in with a flathead screwdriver like its 1986 and start your truck that way...
