Hello everybody who reads and participates.
I recently purchased a 2008 Crewmax. I knew the speakers were shot when I purchased it.
all the door speakers and subwoofer completely dried out and trashed. I kept the door tweeters front and rear. I also kept the center and left-right dash speakers.
After installing all the speakers passenger front door speaker wasn't making any sound at all. I have since learned on this web page that that particular speaker goes to the amp and I have one coming to replace the one under the passenger front seat.
    Now onto troubleshooting number 2.
The passenger side Dash speaker barely plays and just sounds generally dead.
While troubleshooting I found that it also feeds the Tweeter in the door which also sounds muted.
I will make more post on this page as I figure out the system and what is wrong.
And again very cool forum here

1213181742a.jpg okay here is the subwoofer I put in to replace the one that was fried. I wired it parallel because it is a duel voice coil I think the pros call it a DVC. The old one measure 2 ohms so I wired this one parallel positive to positive negative to negative. It sounds dead can't wait to get the new amp installed.

1215180838.jpg I did not keep the box that was specific to the speakers I bought but this is the company CDT audio that I went with for the four door speakers.
I cannot remember if these are DVC "dual voice coil"or not. I wired them to one positive and negative. I don't remember if they had a single positive-negative connection or double positive negative. I will have to look into that one. The factory speakers I guess you could say we're single voice coil. any advice from anybody would be greatly appreciated if you want to chime in thank you

Received the amp today for the JBL stereo system. Now the entire system works and to be honest it sucks. Does anybody have good threads on decent equipment that will not destroy the factory wiring?
To bring the truck up to Modern standards like a new receiver with nav Bluetooth and all those bells and whistles of a 2019 would be cool.
