First of all, I have no intention of making and selling a kit. I would like to offer this as a cheaper DIY solution for those with the required soldering skills. If you do not have the required skills please wait and order from KTJO when available.

Price: About $50 not including Mirrors or wire.

    About the Module:

I have developed my own module to retrofit power fold tow mirrors to 07+ Trucks. My design is very simple and draws no current when the truck is off and the mirrors are static. The module uses a bistable relay and solde diodes, resistors, and capacitors. It uses no current when the truck is off and the mirrors are not in motion.

    How it works:

The mirror switch works as normal when the truck is on. Press the button and the mirrors fold. Press again and they unfold. When the truck is off the mirrors will auto-fold when the lock signal is received. They will unfold when the unlock signal is received. If you do not want to use the unlock signal, simply leave it disconnected and the mirrors will return to whatever position is set by the manual switch when the truck is turned on. I prefer this method as it makes sure i see there is clearance for the mirrors to unfold before the they are unfolded. if there is not enough clearance simply press the manual fold button before starting and press again when mirrors have room to unfold.

How is it built and installed:

I have designed a custom PCB that fit inside a box that is in the Digikey parts list. You will need to make a cutout in the box for the connector to stick out. to connect to the Mirrors and Mirror switch I have included the pins in the order list that you can crimp on to the wires and simply add them to the existing connectors. If you already have power fold mirrors and simply want to add auto fold you can simply cut the connection from the mirror switch to the mirrors at the switch then wire the two from the mirrors to the Rmirror connections on the module and the wires from the switch to the Switch pins on the module,

How can i get the parts needed:

In the following images there is a Digikey order list and a picture of the mirror switch needed available on Amazon. Also there are pictures of where to connect the wires to the module. If there are at lease 10 folks who want to DIY this I will order the custom PCBs and provide them for $3 each shipped.

    Component placement:

    D1-4: 1n4148 Diode
    R1,2: 1K 1206 SMD Resistor
    C1-4: 22uF 1206 Capacitor

    Now for the good stuff:

Have the mirrors, might want to power them up. Have not yet due to ice causing problems, but this system seems like it is ez enough to bypass. Let's get crackin'!
