This morning as I was driving around, the Air bag light on the dash came on. This was dam peculiar and so I pulled over and stopped. I decided to turn the truck off wait a few minutes and then start it back up. Initially I though the problem was solved as the light did light up on start up and shut off, however it came back on again within 2-3 minutes.

I recently took a 1300 mile road trip without a problem, we did however encounter some very heavy rains on he way back, and about 2 weeks ago I gave a guy a jump that was quick and easy. Other than that I haven't really noticed anything with the vehicle.

Has anyone run into this problem, because the manual says take it to the dealer right away. I would guess 1 or more of the air bags might not deploy if there is a problem.

This looks like it could be a deep expensive rabbit hole to me.

P.S. I want to add that before I left for my trip, I noticed a very small AMT of oil in my driveway which was impeccably clean and didn't seem heavy enough for motor oil. I had just had oil service and checked the oil and it was full. After I got back from my trip, I rechecked the oil and it was still full. I attributed the spot to maybe some that had dripped off the frame following service or something like that. Nothing looked wet on the underside.

I believe the Air bag deploys with some type of piston does it not? Could it be that the piston failed and lost it's oil ? I'm just guessing, but if anyone has any advice I'd be glad to hear it.

Alright here is what I have found. I got up under the seats and made sure all the connections were tight. On the passenger side I did find one connection that was partway out so I pushed it in and reconnected. It was the module connection. following that, I drove the truck around for 1/2 hour and the light never came on. I can tell you that this is the first time in my life (70 y/o) that something this simple has ever worked. I'll post back if it goes kaflooey from here, which I'm hoping it doesn't.

I knew it was too good to be true. I'll take it to the shop and have them do a diagnostic on it tomorrow.
