Hey everyone, wanting to know if there are any recalls associated with the 06 Tundras? I've been doing thorough research but, let's be honest, you all most likely know much more than Google about this topic.
Any info is great! The previous owner of my truck spent most of the 12 years he owned the truck as a soldier in Iraq (meanwhile, the truck was stateside) so there's a chance he missed a recall somewhere along the line.
    Thanks guys!

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
Do a search on Wikipedia, they have all recalls and tsb’s listed by year. Plus you should be able to use the vin to confirm anything done to the truck at any dealership.

I just picked a 2006 (formerly had an 02) and it seems to be a pretty solid year. They have the 5 speed auto over the 4 as in the earlier 1st gens. They also have the vvti engine which is a plus.

I'm currently working through mine and getting all maintenances caught up. I'd change all fluids and start fresh, but that's just me.

I would suggest you get any and all records from prior owner and try to figure out if timing belt/water pump has been done. If you are around 100k, you're due.

The carrier bearing that supports the driveshaft may need some attention if the rubber on it has rotted away. This could create some noise and driveline vibration.

A good rule of thumb on the lower ball joints on all first gens is to replace them at around 100k, mainly for peace of mind. Earlier first gens had failures, BUT, I just found out that my ball joints were done under recall at 15k miles as well on my 06 so it must have been on all first gens.

If you buy the truck, download "Toyota Owners" app and create an account. Any work done at dealerships should show up there. I was able to see that my timing belt and water pump were done at 75k miles.

This website will confirm if your specific vin has any open safety recalls. For voluntary Toyota service campaigns, I think the Toyota Owners page mentioned above might be your best bet.

Best way to find out is to register on Toyota's owner's website and they will tell you if your vehicle has any open recalls...
