I need to replace the rear axle with the 3.92 ratio. The truck currently has the limited slip differential (locking) but I can't find a decent used one. Can I put a 3.92 ratio without locking on this truck? I've found a couple of these available. Thank you to anyone who can answer this. Toyota refuses to answer this question because it's not exactly the same part.

I'm no expert, but I don't see why you couldn't go from a LSD axle to non LSD. The access and regular cab rear axles are narrower I think, but as long as it's off a double cab it should be just fine.

Direct swap, except MAYBE the pinion flange. That can change if 2wd/4wd and if RC, AC or DC.

I put a 04 4x4 DC 4.10 w/LSD pumpkin into my 05 2wd AC that was open diff and 3.91. I did swap my pinion flange, did a solid pinion spacer and new pinion seal.
