2017 SR5 without parking sensors or BSM. I’m in a pickle right now. Clipped off the dummy plug for parking sensors to wire in my own. Clicked the truck on and every light in the dash is on and flickering, had a trailer brake malfunction, call your dealer message, 4hi and 4lo lights flicker, truck won’t go in gear... working to splice the connector back on but I’m afraid that isn’t going to fix it. It’s a plug with 5 independent wires that don’t plug into anything... any info would be great, insults welcomed...

You clipped the dummy sensors to wire your own? Wow, gluten for punishment aren't you? Anyway, do you have the new parking sensors you intend to install? Getting those installed may mitigate some of the light display on your dash but suspect it may be something else. I have not tried this so others will have to chime in here to help. Good luck!

No I clipped the dummy plug that didn’t lead into anything. I was using those wires to power my own switch. I’m going through fuses and diagrams now.

I’m a dummy and cut them all at once, however none of the wires had power when I cut them. 3 were grounds, 1 was powered by key on and the other powered by headlight switch. I have the battery disconnected now. I’m beginning to think I need the CPU flashed or something. I reverse connected the plug and still nothing.

If you clipped them all at once without disconnecting the battery also check your fuse box for blown fuses. If you can find a schematic or trace the wires to their origination point that would start narrowing down the issue.

Thanks but my hair fire is over, found the blown fuse titled: ECU-IG No. 1. Swapped the A/C one into its place and I’m good again. Thanks for the support, next time I do something stupid I expect harsher comments!

You got lucky because most of us were still asleep.

Just kidding. Glad you got it fixed.

If haven’t used it for a few years but it allows you online access and to print, so print to .pdf. It did take a day or two for my access to be processed so if you need it for weekend I would start order by Thursday.

So you can't dload the entire manual in one shot unless you go page by page. How many pages can one print in a day...o_O

It is by section (spark plug replacement procedure, diff fluid drain/fill, etc.). So you can download procedures for a repair/maintenance task at a time. I like it cause you get torque specs for every bolt.

Edit: I printed every maintenance task I was willing to perform myself to .pdf and did not hit a limit. It was probably in the 60-70 page range. I do not know if they impose a limit.

I found out about it through a friend’s father that works for corporate Toyota. He handles customer maintenance complaints (steps in to resolve complaints against a dealer).
