Hello - I have a 5.7 CrewMax with 125k. For the past 15k miles or so I'm having an odd noise coming from the front passenger side of the motor. I really only notice it when sitting inside the truck. I would say it sounds like a groaning crossed with rattle. If I'm driving at low speed in a parking lot I notice it. If I put it in park and rev the engine a little I can hear it. Also right when I turn off the truck I can hear it for a split second.

I've checked all my exhaust heat shields and they are good. The sound really wasn't coming from that area anyway. I think it may be a bad passenger side motor mount, but the motor runs smooth with no vibrations. Has anyone else experienced this, or need to change out their motor mounts because of a similar noise?

Check your wiring harness that's attached to the firewall on the passenger side. A Lot of times as the engine moves, and the wiring harness twists in this holder it makes a squeak or groaning sound. Open the holder and drive like you did when it was making the noise...I just wrapped mine with a bit of teflon tape, problem solved. Hope this helps!

Did you get a chance to take a look? Was that the issue?

I had something very similar with my 2014 DC and the fix described here is exactly what the dealership did to take care of it.

Sorry I took so long to reply, but you are spot on. This was where the noise was coming from. THANK YOU!
