So I’ve been having this issue with my 06 limited, the headlights do not turn on when car is off. However, if you start the engine they turn on. Also, the high beams don’t work in these same conditions (same circuit). Have voltage and continuity to the bulbs and relays. Have continuity in the switch itself. So I started checking power to the switch and on 2 pins I’m only getting 3 volts. So I followed the wires to the body ecu, kinda by interior fuse box, and confirmed only 3 volts were coming out of the ecu, according to the manual it should have 10-12. Long story short, I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard about this problem. I’m 99%sure I need to replace the ecu but i wanted your guys input. Thank you

I have encountered this situation, although I'm not sure it is a problem. In previous Toyota's I was unable to turn on the headlights unless the key was in the on position (engine running or not). I have an '02 Tundra, and it won't let me turn the lights on without the key in the on position. I wonder if this has something to do with the 'auto off' feature in the Toyotas that turns the lights off after turning off the truck.
