Congrats on the little one! I had a 2018 Crewmax and the space in the back is as amazing as everyone says it is. However, I now have a 2010 double cab and can pretty comfortably get my kids' car seats in there. I have my 4-year-old son in a harnessed booster right behind me (I'm 6'4" and have my seat pretty far back) and he has plenty of room. My 11-month-old daughter is in a huge Britax convertible in the middle, currently rear-facing. Again, I loved the space in my Crewmax, but there's plenty of space in the double cab and I love having the extra foot in the bed.

Anyway, you can't go wrong with a Crewmax unless you want the extra foot in the bed, but I just thought I'd throw this out there. Good luck!

I like your enthusiasm, but your commitment issues have me worried. How can I trust you will stay with a Tundra this time?

No sorry we don't have our rear facing seat anymore but it was actually a little smaller, even though it reclined more. Regardless, you will still have plenty of room. I doubt any vehicle short of a large van would have anymore leg room than a crewmax tundra.

I’ll try and take one this weekend. I’m 6’4 and have my seat all the way back. My wife and I have an 8 month old who goes in a rear-facing car seat and you would never know it’s there from the driver seat. Plenty of room on the floor to keep her bag of goodies too. It’s the easier of the three vehicles we have to get our daughter in and out. The other two are both 2017s, one being a RAV4 and the other a Camry. I believe the car seat brand is UppaBaby and the model is the Mesa......citing my wife as the source for that little peice of intel.

I 2nd that welcome from NY.
Keep in mind that the TRD Offroad package gives you chrome and the TRD Sport package gives you color match. It may be different in Canada. Don't forget the hood scoop on TRD Sport if that is a want or not.

I have a double cab (MGM by the way...) and we had our daughters infant car seat rear facing with no issues. It's recommended to put them in the middle seat of the second row if possible so you won't have any issues as the driver and passenger seats should not be restricted by the car seat if I remember right. We normally take my wife's Armada when we all go somewhere as a family but we have taken a road trip in the Tundra and we had more than enough room. If it works in a DC, no way you'll have issues with space in the CM IMO. My next Tundra will be a CM though!

Same thing happened to me with a child a little bit older. Our 6 yr old daughter’s feet were starting to stretch between the seats of my 17 Tacoma DC TRD when sitting in her booster seat. The passenger seat also had to be way up for room to get in and out. Pretty claustrophobic cabin compared to my past Tacomas. Traded to our 18 Tundra TRD CM this past fall and absolutely no regrets. Cavernous space and foot room for my daughter and passengers and drives so much nicer than the Tacoma.

Didn’t have time to read all the posts here but i did see you wanted pics of (i think) an infant car seats to show the wife. Here’s a couple where i put our 19 mo old girl. Also tried to show the how much room you have from back of drivers seat to back of car seat, i think that’s the issue you had with the Taco. I had the same issue with my 2001 Tundra, which lead me to my current 2019 CM - let me if you need more pics or if i need to whip out the ruler to take some measurements, etc.

Welcome from Florida. I was looking at the Tacoma's for a little while. I'm so glad I got the CM Tundra. I don't know how I ever lived without of that space....and I don't even have a little one.

I bought my Tundra for the very same reason. My wife and I learned our lesson with her car (Mazda CX-5) and not having enough room in the back for a rear-facing car seat. Whoever rides in the passenger seat in her car is practically sitting upright with their knees against the dash. Here is a pic of my son's car seat in my truck. He is about to turn around to forward-facing, but you can clearly see there is plenty of room between his car seat and the back of the passenger seat.
