Are you sure it’s not your tires catching part of the wheel well, flaps or bumper? I know your frustration. I have a squeak coming from my front passenger side. Not when I hit bumps but just normal driving. It’s aggravating me too. Hopefully it’s not the ball joints already.

The steering wheel can even be slightly turned and it clunks, probably even before the actual wheel/tire itself begins to move. I’m not sure. This is strange to me.

Wouldn’t have thought about it but I’ll definitely check the lugs.

100% sure it’s not the tire rubbing. Definitely possible they didn’t grease something or over torqued something. The sound eerily reminds me of a problem I had a long time ago on a jeep where a bushing basically cracked and broke off and it was just the metal on metal of the shock bolted on. Again, that was on a jeep though. I’m just confused. It def sounds like something is loose to me.

I agree or at least I don’t think it’s the shock topping out either. I would think it would be happeneing on the driver side if anything.

    I’m definitely concerned.

Definitely sure it’s not tire rubbing. It’s got to be metal on metal somewhere.

With the truck being so new and less than 10k miles I can’t imagine it being a factory issue. Of course this would only happen to me after the suspension was changed.

Thanks for all the responses, guys! Gotta get this figured out. Heading to shop Friday afternoon thankfully.

I wonder if it’s possible somebody didn’t tighten your LCA alignment bolts? Those need to be tight AF!

Another possibility. Oh believe me I’m writing all these possibilities down and will stand in the shop until it’s remedied.

Was really hoping to get her out this weekend to some trails too. Barely 2k miles on the suspension too : (

That definitely sounds like something is loose. That would drive me crazy. Is there anyway you could lay under there while someone re-creates the noise for you. It could be as simple as a Brake line flexing and rattling on something.

Sounds like loose wheel lugs or loose shock mount to me.

I had that narley clunk noise thought something bad was going to happen and something was about ready to fall off my truck. Checked every bolt and all were tight. Sprayed a little white lithium grease on my coilover/strut rod and clunking noise is now gone.

    Try this

Have a 2nd eye inside the popped hood and look closely at the brake reservoir and brake system while you replicate the noise.

I only on Saturday changed the brakes on a Nissan and asked buddy to pump brakes, and a similar sound came from the brake accentuator.

    Worth looking at.....

    Def worth looking at.

First thing I’m doing today is getting the lugs/wheels looked at.

    Will keep everyone posted.

    Update for you guys:

Looked at literally everything you guys mentioned above that I could. I was able to hustle the shop into letting me come in today instead of tomorrow. As soon as the guy took it into the bay he heard it and knew exactly where to look and found it.

The culprit: a bolt in the right UCA worked itself loose over time and was knocking back and forth as I was driving. (It all makes sense now, right?! Lol).

As a precaution they re torqued every single bolt related to the suspension to proper spec and I’m in the clear!

Just glad it wasn’t worse and I’m back on the road and ready to found!

Wow that’s really scary. Good thing that bolt is so long and couldnt fall out easy. Glad they found it!

I love it when I’m right! It’s becoming too common of people not tightening that LCA bolt enough. When I had my alignment done I told the guy and he looked at me like I was an asshole for telling him. IDGAF! Tighten that shit up right!

Could have been worse. Some folks just gas and drive. Nothing else.

I hear pebbles lodged in my tire grooves, and every unusual sound....

Glad you got it fixed !!!!!!!

I had a metal on metal banging/clunking sound also. Just figured it out the other day. Its my trailer hitch. Sits a little loose in the receiver. Every time I go over a bump "bang". It always sounded like it was coming from the middle of the truck so took me a minute to figure out.
