Zmax and other Micro Lubricants

Do any of you use Zmax or any other micro lubricants? Do they work, or are they just snake oil? It used to be Slick50 was all the rage, but now you don't hear anything about them.

I just did my first oil change on my 2018 at 2500 miles. I couldn't stand the thought of 10,000 miles to my first oil change on a new engine.

 

I am no expert, but my vote is snake oil!!

of course there is the bias of this being Amsoil's site, but I think they're on the money about these additives, personally.

 

Never fell for crap like this even when I was a teenager. Don't do it!

 

I was raised a skeptic, as well. I try to research the heck out of something and then make up my mind.

 

Someone should name their next additive "Snake Oil". It Slithers through your engines critical parts.........

 

Have used marvel mystery in a poorly maintained 4 stroke blower,grass cutter,etc small engine.Drain some crud oil and add marvel mystery. Run to warm up but use no load. You would not believe the crap that drains out. Drain well. Replace with synth. Run. Check for cleanliness and redo if oil turns foul and crudy after a short run.
