I bought my 2008 Tundra last year and mostly love it. It's an SR5 TRD 4X4 with a 5.7 that is a beast! It had 86,000 miles showing at the time I bought it. Now, I have always been a Ford guy and being 65 years old I have owned quite a few over the years. But I have heard so many tales of these Toyota's being almost indestructible that I considered not buying a warranty. But today I'm sure happy that I did.

Now, the TPS I've just about given up on. They've replaced each and every sensor and the computer, or whatever controls it. The light still flashes when I start it half the time and it shines in my eyes mocking me and my attempts to fix the beast. But of course, it's intermittent.

I just had the secondary air pumps replaced two weeks ago. I had no idea what was going on when I started it and the CEL was shining and all traction systems were shut off and it didn't have enough power to get out of it's own way. That's when I learned that this happens any time the CEL comes on. Supposed to be for my own good, evidently.

Sometime during the summer (Don't remember exactly) it just died coming to work one morning. No problem, I have roadside assistance pick it up and deliver it to the shop. I was luckily close enough to walk to my office. But I evidently ran out of gas even though it was showing over 1/4 of a tank. Looks like the sending unit and fuel pump are bad and they are both one part, so they drop the tank and replace it all; covered under the warranty that I almost didn't buy, of course.

Now, when I bought it I had the Toyota dealership service it completely. All of the fluids were replaced and I mean all of them. Engine, transmission, transfer case, both differentials, power steering, brake fluid and radiator flushed. All the filters, including cabin filter were replaced. And the belt was also replaced. I also had them install Bilstein struts up front to level it out and rotate the tires which look nearly new. I don't know the previous owner and he was the original owner, so it was a true one owner truck that didn't get driven much. And I love the deep blue color, even though it's a bitch to keep clean. Oh yeah, I also ordered the side steps and tonneau cover from an off road specialty type of company and had them installed a little later.

I love driving it! It took me quite a few days to learn how to take off from a stop and not spin the tires! It has more power than I should ever need and is comfortable to drive. That's important for this old man. But I have to say that the GPS sucks and the backup camera is worthless if it's been raining. Although the JBL sound system isn't bad. Even still, I am considering changing out the head unit with a newer one. Maybe have a better GPS and a better backup camera with satellite radio.

Now, I've said all that to ask this: What are the common repairs y"all have had to make with my kind of mileage? (Let's say 100K)I have read all of the stickys and browsed through the comments but what seems to be a common repair? Browsing here is where I learned that the secondary air pumps are a common service item so I'm wondering if there are others that are just as expensive? Maybe there is already a thread that I may have missed? Missing something that's right in front of my eyes is not unusual for me! So, please don't beat me up too bad, OK?

Thank you all for willingly sharing your knowledge with the world. It's a beautiful thing!

Only problem with my 2008 5.7 is the bad gas mileage, 180K miles.
