    First post.
Recently bought 07 sr5 stock. Black with chrome. Trying to get rid of most (or all) chrome.
Does anyone have tips oon removing stick bumpers so I can paint them prior to reinstall?

    Thanks

    Welcome from Tx!

Never removed bumper, should be straight forward. I might consider leaving on for painting. Many are vinyl wrapping instead of painting.

That is not a bad idea. May just tape it off and use some rattle can magic. I'll look tomorrow and decide. Will post pics for reference when I do it.

Have 2 cans ready. Leaning that way for a while. Haven't pulled the trigger. Planning on doing this next week.

I used two cans on my old rear chrome bumper. Actually came out quite well.

I have pulled my bumper, and would second the plasti-dip in place if I were you. It can be done, but it's too easy to break the plastic clips on the plastic portions. Especially the long one under the headlights and grill, above the steel. Now my experience might have been skewed since I was fixing front end damage. It takes two people to remove the chromed steel bumper.
