Unable To Smog 06 Tundra

My father owns a Tundra and he is unable to pass smog.

Long story short - the cats got cut off so we replaced them with oem ones. Ever since the catalytic converter was replaced, it was spitting the fault code for the same thing.

The check engine shows that Bank 1 Sensor 2 is bad. We have replaced the sensor twice and we still have the same issue.

What could be the problem if the sensors aren't the issue?

Could it be the cat that is faulty?

Hey bud,

Have you been clearing the code after you replace the sensor? Did you have the exhaust checked for leaks after the cats were installed and started to throw codes? What brand O2 sensors have you been installing? Cracked exhaust manifolds are common in first gen tundras and could explain the code also.

Let me know what you figure out.

 

Aftermarket 02 don't work on a lot of vehicles. If you don't have OEM sensors you might try that.
