Sorry if this has been discussed in the past. I’ve search the forum can’t find anything. I want to install an aftermarket backup camera but I have located a OEM review mirror which has the LCD on it. My question is does anyone know what the wire Layout on the factory plug for the back up camera is? On the camera it will have a positive or negative and then 2 wires for the video feed by stripping the rca down. 2011 tundra here.

    Thanks in advance.

    Not nearly enough room here!
1220181604.jpg 1220181604a.jpg 1220181607.jpg I have the same Harness in back as you do on my 2010 but after much research and reading, I decided on a AutoVox MI. Do a search on it, you'll be impressed. First pic is where camera mounts to underside of rear tag. 2nd pic is where I have screen mounted (several ways/places to do this) 3 rd pic is screen showing tow hitch, it always looks 'washed-out' in my pics but it's really clear and comes with a couple options, as far as image size and 'guide lines' delete feature. I'm not a sales rep, just a pleased customer trying to help!

Not a definitive answer but hopefully will be helpful.

I have a 2007-2010 Tundra wiring diagram, don’t remember where I got it, perhaps this forum.

Anyway, the diagram of the wires going from the radio/display to the camera shows four wires, with the following colors and captions:
    • Black (CB+)
    • White (CGND)
    • Red (CV+)
    • Blue (CV-)

The diagram shows the Blue wire terminating in an octagon symbol before it gets to the radio from the camera, which I believe means it goes to chassis ground. One could confirm this by using a continuity tester with the ignition off. Given that you have no camera display, all the other wires should be open to ground and to each other. With appropriate jumper wires between the connectors at the front of the vehicle and using a continuity tester, one can verify which wires match up front and back (although they should be the same color).

I’m guessing that Black and White are the camera signal wires and Red and Blue are the power wires.

thanks. this is what i found online. based on what you gave me.
1 CV- (White) Camera Video Negative
2 CV+ (Red) Camera Video Positive
3 CGND (Blue) Camera GND (Shield)
    4 CB+ (Black) Camera Power

i am guessing that I need to connect the outside shield of rca to 1. middle of the rca to 2. ground to 3. 12v+ (from the tail light) to 4. let's pray this works... eeeekkk.

I have a 2010 Tundra and a Gentex autodim/compass/Homelink/3.5 LCD Mirror that I want to use with a OEM Camera mounted in the tailgate (for a backup camera setup). I cannot find the camera/latch housing that will plug into the currently plugged white connector(that you show) which should work with the 3.5" LCD rear view . I currently have a autodim/compass/homelink rear view mirror (that I added a few years back) and not sure if that cable will work for the LCD mirror.

Do you have the cable that connects the mirror to the factory connector in the headliner? If you do, you should be able to use a OEM Camera tailgate handle setup and plug it into that white (plugged) connector by your spare. But, you may be in the same boat as me looking for a OEM compatible tailgate latch/camera/cable setup. For some reason I cannot find one?

It seems like there's a bunch of old threads on this but none with any solutions for a OEM tailgate Camera setup that will work with the OEM stock 3.5" LCD rear view mirror.

Subscribed, and will let you know if I find one or even P/Ns.

I ended up running my own wires. It wasn’t hard, i just followed the one that was running from the back on passenger side all the way to the from back to the front firewall. Then up the pillar. It cost about $60-70 for the entire setup. I like it. 68758C08-F0EC-4E29-80F6-E0F1B91F487C.jpg3C1F3657-9EB2-48D9-87DB-F7ECF1369FE1.jpgC29A4F6B-D85C-4414-9DFF-0895BDED528A.jpg

Has anyone bought a dash and back up camera as a kit. If so, where?

Camerasource.com OEM Mirror aftermarket camera very high quality. They also sell the latch, but found one on the bay for very low price $23 range new works great. I got the mirror with homelink and compass also so a little pricy. New Gentex. Camera very clear and has parking aligment lines and distance red/yellow/green range zones. I ended up emailing them and then called and they were very helpful. Not cheap but felt I got what I paid for.
