was wondering if anyone had any experience or info with the boss 6112/ 5160 bilstein kit? Worth the money or better off buying things separate?

Can't go wrong with that setup. A lot of guy's are running that combo. If your not off-roading that much, then the 5100's in the rear would suffice. Boss 4X4 and Toytec are great places to buy, with excellent customer service. Good luck

@Nopuff2413 are you asking about the Toytec BOSS vs Bilstein 6112/5160s?

    Tundra_361 and T-Rex266 like this.

On the Boss 4x4 website there is a Bilstein bossed out kit. Seems to come with everything you would need but I’m thinking it may be an overkill for me. I do some light hauling but I do spend some time on the dirt roads so I was also thinking the 5100’s on the back would be better. The big thing is I just spent a lot of money on this nice truck that I really like and If i put a suspension system on it I want it to be an improvement for the vehicle and not something that I would regret haha.

I have no experience running all the other stuff Toytec added to the Bilstein 6112/5160s, but I do believe the 6112s and 5160s provide a better suspension than a stock SR5 suspension. The 6112 shock body is 2.5” in diameter, which is bigger than the SR5 stock shocks. And the 5160s come with a remote reservoir for added volume. Both of those factors mean it should take longer for the shock oil to heat up, thereby reducing shock fade. I will say I noticed an improvement when I installed my 6112/5160 combo, especially when going over rutted roads or uneven railroad tracks.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t raise the rear, nor did I add spacer shims to the top of the front coilovers for a bit more lift. I raised the front to the 1.9” setting. Not sure how it would ride with 1” shackles in the rear and shims up front, but my guess is that it probably wouldn’t ride much differently than my setup as far as shock damping performance goes.

To clear things up- the boss kit is different from Toytec. The one in the OP link is Bilisteins with his shackles.
Toytec boss kit is entirely different
