I need to replace the dashboard in my 2013 2nd gen and was wondering if it could be upgraded to the 2014-2018 3 rd GE. Dashboard with new instrument cluster and steering wheel?

I haven't seen it done here yet. Not a good sign since there are a lot of 2nd gens getting modded/makeovers. But then again?????

That was what I was afraid of. My 2013 Tundra DBL Cab was one of my companies work trucks and I have just decommissioned it from our fleet. I have decided to keep the truck as a second truck to have around the house, but needs several things done in the interior and exterior.

The Dash has been sorta painted black on some of the plastic and it needs to be replaced. I am also replacing the door panels, seats, and most likely am going to swap out the 40/20/40 bench seat for the center console.

I am updating the door panels with the 3rd Gen door panels that are a direct replacement. Since the trucks cab is the same for both Gen 2 and Gen 3 I figured the figment would not be a problem. The bigger concern would be the wiring (wiring Harness).

If the 3rd gen dash won’t work the other option would be to try and update just the instrument cluster to a 2018 platinum dash from a Sequoia. This has the updated instrumentation but still fits the 2nd Gen Dashboard.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I think between the different HVAC system and the airbags you'd be spending many hours doing wiring. Would probably need to do something in the BCM as well.
