Aw SHIT! Hope it wasn't hit and run. Your pic is kind of ironic with a Geico ad in the background.

I wasn’t pleased with first paint job on the grill surround, so I redid it and did the bumper caps too. All chrome gone except exhaust. :)

    This is much more acceptable.

I’ve used them all, so maybe I can help.

Duplicolor (blue can) is the best if you can find it. Layer nice, even coat, and then press the nozzle halfway until it starts spitting heavy droplets...aim above what you’re painting and let the droplets fall on the previous coat while still tacky. It gives a beautiful droplet texture.

Duplicolor (Black can, new formula) doesn’t texture quite as well, but goes on evenly. My biggest issue is that it ISNT BLACK. It’s fine if standing alone, but if it’s next to something black, it will look gray. It’s dark, just not as black as it could be or used to be. ALSO AVAILABLE IN CLEAR AND WHITE.

Duplicolor Bed Armor (Kevlar) is jet black and textures well from the can, but is water based...do not use this if there is high humidity, fog, or chance of rain. It takes the longest to dry, but is the strongest. PAINTABLE

Rustoleum will give the smoothest texture, and is great for trim pieces and areas that don’t come in contact with much. It is also the most likely to peel/scrape off.

Herculiner sprays and adheres well, but not many places carry it...so if you are doing a big project it may be difficult to find enough of it.

Krylon is newer and this was my first time to use it. It goes on in the most beautiful, even texture, and most closely resembles plastic bumpers, fender flares, etc. After spraying it, go back over and lightly dust it with the spray to perfect any heavy areas that look darker.
THIS IS WHAT IS ON MY SURROUND AND BUMPER CAPS.

    Interior LED swap today.

Went with the jdm astar. Easy swap. Much brighter.

No fuses blown or other self-imposed headaches. Woot.

Looks great! I have the same 17” Icon Rebounds and size tires, except mine are the Cooper Discoverer XLTs. I have Bilstein 6112s at the 1.9” setting and completely removed the front plastic from the bumper and no rubbing. I plan to cut the plastic liner and refit it back on to protect the fog light housing from mud and splash, but so far so good with the fog lights after a few months now.

I wrapped my steering wheel trim pieces to match the rest of my interior dash. I think I’m going to paint the silver volume button black. 455AF1E7-90C2-4037-BD8D-9C6CDD9CA128.jpg

This is great because I have a worn out green vinyl wrap on my Tundra and I'm waiting for good weather and time to remove it. I have the same dark metallic grey under the wrap and I want to leave/re-wrap the chrome elements matte black. This is great inspiration for what the final product would look like. Looks great!

    Love the look.

Are the lights that come with the Spyders not bright enough (hence the Morimoto HID) ?
