As I search for my next purchase (hooked on the Inferno color unfortunately) I am curious to whether there is any difference between the TRD Pro and any other model that I should be aware of that could be a gotcha when it comes time to add a 4 - 6 inch lift. I have read a few posts that lead me to believe there may be some differences between the models.
Disclaimer: I am a total noob to Tundras, but did throw a 3 inch OME lift with leaf pack on the Tacoma a couple of years ago that worked out very well.
    Thanks in advance!

The Pro has different front coilovers and rear shocks, so different compatibility with shims and whatnot. The other suspension components, IIRC are the same.

On my 16 TRD Pro, I had Coach builder/33" set up and went up to Pro Comp/Kings/37". Sold the TRD coilovers, skid plate. Lift kit seems to be pretty much the same.

I recently bought a truck, I had friends that told me to skip the pro and get a platinum. The platinum has all the creature comforts, saved me around $7k vs a Pro. Spend $3500 on bds 3” kit with adjustable Fox coilovers. Still had money for tires and wheels!

In hind sight should have gone your route. The TRD Pro badging cost a lot more and came with less features.

Once I saw that the pro didn’t come with dual climate control, I was like wtf! Coming from a 2017 Raptor that was fully loaded, I don’t understand the Pro being based off an SR5! It should be loaded on the interior.

I ended up tearing out the Pro suspension, gone with Kings/PC 6”/37”. I do like the $$$ Pro badging.

Agreed.....I am looking at the Limited again as well as the Platinum models as this old ass wants the heated seats. The wife is always frickin cold and uses them year round!

Never understood why people spend the extra money to buy a Pro and then turn around and take most of what makes it a "Pro" off and put on aftermarket stuff. Seems like a waste of money to me.

I love the pro. It’s overpriced but I like it’s simplistic nature. If I had one I would keep the shocks until they wore out. Then upgrade to something even more bad ass. Because who wants to pay $3000 at the dealer for anything. But since the pro is marked up so much, I would get the truck with the features I wanted and then do the things my way.
Which is what I’m doing right now LOL

Very Wise move...love my Platinum. That said, Toyota has brilliantly made the Pro a shake your $money maker$ with less options/creature comforts by building and then seeding the dealerships with fewer Pro edition Tundras and jacking the price up.

Haha...brilliant marketing that works...only in MURICA!
