So my local dealer just got this beautiful 2019 TRD Pro for 53K, and I almost made a deal (44K trade in on mine). But after driving it, I just could not get over the hood scoop. IMO, it looks too much like an add on, which it is, I get that. On the road, the forward visibility, right there in the center of the hood, is somewhat obstructed. Hate running over short people. Oh wait, this rig has pedestrian auto braking, no worries.
Here’s what I like compared to my ‘16 PRO.
    1. Color. The subtle blue metallic in the black paint is awesome.
    2. Sun/moon roof.
    3. LED lights including fogs.
    4. Fox suspension.
    5. Wheels.

    Dislikes:
    1.Hood scoop.
    2. Orange peel in paint (really shows on black paint when parked in shaded areas.
    3. And this is a big one; the possibility of getting another new Tundra with a cam tower leak. I think the statistics are about 50/50.
    4. Poor integration of forward radar in grill. Same guy that added the scoop must have done this too.

So for now I wait for the next generation.

Exactly. So I paid $46,800, drive it for over 3 years, and get 44K on trade. Try that with a Ford or Dodge. Not! You’d get maybe half.

    That’s pretty good! :thumbsup::thumbsup:
My best Yota resale to date was a 98 4runner I purchased for $8500, drove for 10 years put 40K miles on it and sold for $13K. I added a new battery and tires LOL.
I was paid $5K to drive it :D

My other was a 98 Tacoma bought for $12.5K put 120K miles on over 10 years and sold for $10.5K.
My dad sold it to me for $12.5K though and blue book was $18K so not too fair. I added Bills (lift) and tires as well. lol

Definitely good resale on Toyota

Another thread on this forum, a member with a voodoo blue pro had his lifted from dealer, I would've gladly paid whatever they wanted, hoping they come out next year with MGM, if not I'll take a BLAAAAACK PRO

I do have to concur on the black paint, I believe some rocket scientist in the paint department came up with a spray gun speed formula for all colors not realizing the black base will absorb heat and the first coat of clear will go on as dry as a popcorn fart. Someone in the paint department needs a jap-slap. I hoping the next gen tundra has 14" of travel, 750HP and no orange peel.

It's amazing that you only put 40K on it 10yrs, I've put 50K on my Tundra in less than 2 yrs

We’ve always had 3 vehicles between my wife and I.
Fun sedan (me normally DD), SUV kid hauler (wife DD) truck or suv for off-road - occasionally used around property etc.

The Tundra replaced the 4runner, and was supposed to sit most of the time.
But after the Kings and DD exhaust - that didn’t happen LOL. If I drive the car, the wife steals the Tundra.
Tundra is now racking up 1,800 miles a month = 22K year o_O

I was just out that way Saturday at Off Road Warehouse doing some shopping. Good on you for making the right decision for you. My Sport has a hold scoop and I barely notice.

The Pro being compariable to Raptor, Toyota can step it up quite a bit. Just being frank you’re really not getting what you pay for IMO. Should come with better tires, suspension, rear E locker like taco, blacked out interior headliner and everything, should be far more capable than an SR5 when the difference is usually around or over $15,000.00.

For me I wanted to make my own pro version. SR5 mcm midtravel kit 3.0’s w/bypass rear bypass and deavers. 37/12.50R17 icon six speed. Katzskin seat covers, 4.88’s. Lockers. Magnuson. All of that makes quite a capable vehicle and is around the same price give or take 1-2k. It’s a bitchin truck just not for me. Much more bang for buck DIY.

I agree. The hood scoop looks awful. Saul tires as well. Wheels are okay but have a poor offset so would change those as well.

Nice decision waiting for the next gen
